Welcome to your Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph UTC Automatic Watch. This manual provides essential information for the proper use, care, and maintenance of your timepiece. Please read it carefully to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your watch.
Components Overview

Setup
Initial Winding
Your Montblanc TimeWalker watch features an automatic movement. To initiate operation or after a period of inactivity, manually wind the watch by rotating the crown (position 0, fully pushed in) clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This builds up the initial power reserve.
Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to position 2 (farthest position). The seconds hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Ensure the 24-hour hand (UTC hand) is also correctly aligned if setting local time.
- Push the crown back to position 0 to restart the movement.
Setting the Date
- Pull the crown out to position 1 (middle position).
- Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the date change mechanism is active and could be damaged.
- Push the crown back to position 0.
Setting the UTC (24-Hour) Hand
The red-tipped arrow hand indicates a second time zone in 24-hour format.
- After setting the local time, pull the crown out to position 2.
- Rotate the crown to align the red-tipped arrow hand with the desired 24-hour time on the bezel.
- Push the crown back to position 0.
Adjusting the Rubber Strap
The rubber strap is designed for comfort and durability. Adjustment typically involves cutting the strap to size or using the micro-adjustment on the deployment clasp. It is recommended to have this done by a professional watchmaker to ensure a proper fit and avoid damage.
Operating the Chronograph Function
Your watch is equipped with a chronograph for measuring elapsed time.
- Start: Press the upper pusher to start the central chronograph seconds hand.
- Stop: Press the upper pusher again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time can be read from the central chronograph seconds hand, the 30-minute counter (at 12 o'clock), and the 12-hour counter (at 6 o'clock).
- Reset: With the chronograph stopped, press the lower pusher to reset all chronograph hands to zero.
The small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock continuously tracks the running seconds of the watch.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Regularly clean your watch with a soft, damp cloth. For rubber straps, mild soap and water can be used. Ensure the crown is pushed in before cleaning, especially if using water.
Water Resistance
Your watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). This makes it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
Service Intervals
To ensure optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to have your Montblanc watch serviced by an authorized service center every 3-5 years.
Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. The original watch box is ideal for storage.

Troubleshooting
Watch Not Running
- Automatic Movement: If the watch has not been worn for a while, manually wind it using the crown (position 0) for 30-40 turns.
- Power Reserve: Ensure the watch has sufficient power reserve by wearing it regularly or using a watch winder.
Date Not Changing Correctly
- Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM. If the date is stuck, try advancing the time past midnight to allow the date to change, then reset the time.
Chronograph Hands Not Resetting to Zero
- Ensure the chronograph is stopped before pressing the reset pusher. If the issue persists, a service may be required.
For any persistent issues, please contact an authorized Montblanc service center.
