Figure 1: The Tchibo Smoothie Maker Blender. This image shows the compact blender base, a mixing cup with a blade attachment filled with ingredients, and two other mixing cups with to-go lids, one containing a red smoothie and another a green smoothie. The packaging in the background highlights its 250 Watt power and suitability for ice crushing, along with the inclusion of three mixing cups in two sizes (one 300ml and two 590ml).
Your Tchibo Smoothie Maker Blender comes with the following components:
- Blender Base: The main unit containing the motor and control button.
- Blade Attachment: The removable blade assembly that screws onto the mixing cups.
- Mixing Cups: Three durable plastic cups for blending and serving. One cup has a capacity of approximately 300 ml, and two cups have a capacity of approximately 590 ml each.
- To-Go Lids: Three matching lids designed for easy portability, allowing you to drink directly from the cups.
4. Setup
- Unpack all components and remove any packaging materials.
- Wash the mixing cups, to-go lids, and blade attachment in warm, soapy water before first use. Rinse thoroughly and dry. The blender base should only be wiped with a damp cloth.
- Place the blender base on a stable, flat, and dry surface.
- Ensure the appliance is unplugged before assembly.
5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to prepare your favorite smoothies:
- Prepare Ingredients: Cut fruits and vegetables into small pieces (approx. 2-3 cm) to ensure optimal blending. Do not overfill the mixing cup; ensure ingredients do not exceed the maximum fill line.
- Add Liquids: Always add liquid (water, milk, juice, etc.) first, followed by soft ingredients, then harder ingredients, and finally ice cubes if desired. The blender is suitable for ice crushing.
- Attach Blade: Screw the blade attachment firmly onto the open end of the filled mixing cup. Ensure it is securely tightened to prevent leaks.
- Place on Base: Invert the mixing cup with the attached blade and place it onto the blender base. Align the tabs on the cup with the slots on the base and twist clockwise until it locks into place.
- Blend: Plug the blender into a suitable power outlet (220 Volts). Press and hold the power button on the front of the base to start blending. Blend until desired consistency is achieved. For best results and to prevent overheating, blend in short bursts (e.g., 30 seconds on, 1 minute off).
- Remove Cup: Once blending is complete, release the power button and unplug the appliance. Twist the mixing cup counter-clockwise to unlock it from the base, then lift it off.
- Enjoy: Unscrew the blade attachment from the mixing cup. If you wish to take your smoothie on the go, screw one of the provided to-go lids onto the cup.
Note: Do not operate the blender continuously for more than 1 minute. Allow the motor to cool down for at least 10 minutes between blending cycles if multiple batches are needed.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and hygiene of your blender:
- Unplug: Always unplug the blender from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Mixing Cups & Lids: Wash the mixing cups and to-go lids immediately after use with warm, soapy water. They can also be placed on the top rack of a dishwasher.
- Blade Attachment: Carefully rinse the blade attachment under running water. Use a brush to remove any food residue. Caution: Blades are sharp. Handle with extreme care. Do not immerse the blade attachment in water for extended periods.
- Blender Base: Wipe the blender base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water or any other liquid. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Storage: Store the cleaned and dried blender and its accessories in a dry place.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Blender does not turn on. | Not plugged in; cup not properly locked; motor overheating. | Ensure power cord is securely plugged in. Twist cup clockwise until it locks into place. Unplug and let motor cool for 10-15 minutes. |
| Ingredients are not blending smoothly. | Too little liquid; too many ingredients; ingredients too large. | Add more liquid. Reduce the amount of ingredients. Cut ingredients into smaller pieces. Blend in pulses. |
| Leakage from the cup. | Blade attachment not tightened; cup overfilled; seal damaged. | Ensure blade attachment is screwed on tightly. Do not exceed max fill line. Check rubber seal for damage and replace if necessary. |
| Burning smell from motor. | Overheating due to continuous use or blending tough ingredients. | Immediately unplug the blender. Allow the motor to cool down completely (at least 30 minutes). Reduce load and blend in shorter bursts. |
