Refer to the icons near the buttons for guidance.

4.3 Kaffee-Boost Technology

The integrated Kaffee-Boost technology ensures a fuller, richer taste by distributing hot water evenly over the entire coffee pad via 45 aroma nozzles. This maximizes the flavor extraction from every coffee pad.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your Senseo coffee machine and ensure optimal coffee quality.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • After each use, remove the used coffee pad(s) and rinse the pad holder.
  • Empty and rinse the drip tray and the metal drip grid.
  • Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.

5.2 Descaling

Descaling is crucial for maintaining your machine's performance and coffee temperature. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. The descaling indicator light (if present) will illuminate when descaling is required.

  1. Use a Senseo-approved descaling agent or a citric acid-based descaler. Follow the descaler manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Fill the water reservoir with the descaling solution.
  3. Place the 1-cup pad holder with a used coffee pad (to filter scale particles) into the machine.
  4. Place a large bowl (at least 1.5 liters) under the coffee spout.
  5. Start the descaling cycle as per the machine's specific instructions (often by pressing both 1-cup and 2-cup buttons simultaneously or a dedicated descaling button).
  6. After the descaling cycle, rinse the machine thoroughly by running two full water reservoirs of fresh water through it.
