  • Hot Surface Indicator: An "H" will appear in the surface cooking area display to indicate when elements are hot to the touch, even after the cooktop is turned off. Do not touch hot surfaces.

5. Operating Instructions

Operating your Empava induction cooktop is straightforward with its intuitive touch controls.

5.1 Basic Operation

  1. Place compatible cookware on the desired cooking zone.
  2. Press the On/Off button to activate the cooktop.
  3. Select the cooking zone you wish to use.
  4. Adjust the power level using the + and - buttons. There are 9 power levels available.
  5. To set a timer, press the Timer button and use the + and - buttons to set the desired cooking duration (1-99 minutes). The cooktop will automatically turn off when the timer expires.
  6. To activate the child lock, press and hold the Lock button. Repeat to unlock.
  7. To pause cooking, press the Pause button. Press again to resume.
  8. After cooking, press the On/Off button to turn off the cooktop. The hot surface indicator "H" will remain until the surface cools down.

5.2 Cookware Compatibility

Induction cooktops require specific types of cookware. Ensure your cookware is compatible for optimal performance.

  • Proper Cookware: Flat-bottom pots or pans made from magnetic materials such as iron-frying pan, stainless steel pot, iron pan, iron plate, iron kettle, or enamel stainless steel kettle. The diameter should be between 4.7 to 10.83 inches.
  • Test for Compatibility: If a magnet sticks to the bottom of your cookware, it is compatible.
  • Improper Cookware: Non-magnetic stainless steel, cookware with a bottom measuring less than 4.7 inches, jagged edges or a curved base, heat resistant glass, ceramic containers, copper, or aluminum.

  • Stubborn Stains: For more stubborn stains or heat discoloration, use a ceramic cooktop cleaner. Spills cannot burn onto the surface, making cleanup effortless.
  • Always ensure the cooktop is cool before cleaning.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals that could scratch or damage the glass surface.
  • Regularly check and clean the ventilation areas to ensure proper airflow.
