4. Setup and Installation
Installation of the Gree Multi21+ system requires specialized knowledge and tools. It must be performed by a state-licensed HVAC contractor to ensure proper function, safety, and warranty validity.
- Site Selection: The outdoor unit should be placed on a stable, level surface with adequate clearance for airflow and maintenance. Indoor units are designed for concealed installation within ceiling or wall cavities.
- Line Sets: The system requires 1/4" x 1/2" line sets (two sets for this dual-zone configuration) to connect the indoor units to the outdoor unit. These are not included and must be purchased separately.
- Electrical Wiring: All electrical connections must comply with local codes and be performed by a qualified electrician. The system operates on 208/230V.
- Ductwork: Proper duct sizing and installation are critical for efficient air distribution from the concealed indoor units.
- Condensate Drainage: Ensure proper drainage for condensate produced by the indoor units to prevent water damage.
5. Operating Instructions
Your Gree Multi21+ system provides efficient heating and cooling. Each indoor unit is controlled independently via its dedicated remote controller.
- Power On/Off: Use the 'On/Off' button on the remote to start or stop the unit.
- Mode Selection: Select 'Cool' for air conditioning or 'Heat' for heating using the 'Mode' button. Other modes like 'Fan' or 'Dry' may also be available.
- Temperature Adjustment: Use the temperature up/down buttons to set your desired temperature. The G10 inverter technology maintains steady room temperature by adjusting compressor speed.
- Fan Speed: Adjust the fan speed (Low, Medium, High, Auto) to control airflow and noise levels. The system is designed for quiet operation.
- Timer Function: Program the unit to turn on or off at specific times using the 'Timer' function.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Gree Multi21+ system. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.
- Air Filter Cleaning: Periodically clean or replace the air filters in the indoor units. Dirty filters can reduce efficiency and airflow. Refer to your installer for access to concealed filters.
- Outdoor Unit Cleaning: Keep the outdoor coil free of dirt, leaves, and other debris. Ensure the area around the outdoor unit is clear.
- Professional Inspection: Schedule annual inspections and maintenance with a qualified HVAC technician. They can check refrigerant levels, electrical connections, and overall system health.
- Condensate Drain: Ensure the condensate drain line is clear and free of blockages.
7. Troubleshooting
If your system is not operating correctly, consider the following basic troubleshooting steps. For complex issues, contact a qualified HVAC technician.
- No Power: Check the circuit breaker for the unit. Ensure the remote control batteries are not depleted.
- Insufficient Cooling/Heating: Verify the thermostat setting is appropriate for the desired temperature. Check if air filters are clean. Ensure no obstructions are blocking the outdoor unit's airflow.
- Unusual Noises: Minor operational noises are normal. If you hear loud or unusual sounds, turn off the unit and contact a technician.
- Water Leakage: If water is leaking from the indoor unit, turn off the system immediately and contact a technician. This could indicate a blocked condensate drain.
- Remote Control Issues: Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the indoor unit. Replace batteries if necessary.
