Setup
Powering the Unit
AC Power
- Ensure the unit is placed on a stable, flat surface.
- Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC IN jack on the rear of the unit.
- Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.
Battery Power
For portable use, the unit can be powered by batteries.
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the rear of the unit.
- Insert 6 (six) UM-2/C sized batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Antenna Adjustment
For optimal FM radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in antenna, so no external adjustment is needed.
Operation
CD Player
Loading a CD
- Press the 'PUSH TO OPEN' area on the top of the unit to open the CD compartment cover.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up onto the center spindle.
- Gently close the CD compartment cover until it clicks into place.
- Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until 'CD' mode is selected on the display.
CD Playback Controls
- Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button (often combined with the Power button or a dedicated button) to start or pause CD playback.
- Stop: Press the Stop button to stop CD playback.
- Skip Track: Press the TUN+ / M+ button to skip to the next track. Press the TUN- / M- button to skip to the beginning of the current track or the previous track.
- Search: Press and hold the TUN+ / M+ or TUN- / M- button during playback to fast forward or rewind through the track.
AM/FM Radio
- Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until 'AM' or 'FM' mode is selected.
- Extend the FM telescopic antenna for better reception.
- Manual Tuning: Press the TUN- or TUN+ buttons briefly to adjust the frequency step by step.
- Automatic Tuning: Press and hold the TUN- or TUN+ buttons for a few seconds to automatically scan for the next available station.
- Saving Presets: (If available) Tune to your desired station. Press the PROG/M.P.MODE button, then use TUN- / M- or TUN+ / M+ to select a preset number, and press PROG/M.P.MODE again to save.
Aux Input
Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the boombox.
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied) to the headphone jack or line-out jack of your external device.
- Connect the other end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the AUX IN jack on the boombox (location typically on the front or side).
- Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until 'AUX' mode is selected.
- Start playback on your external device. Adjust the volume on both the boombox and the external device for optimal sound.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- CD Care: Handle CDs by their edges. Keep them clean and free from scratches. Store them in their cases when not in use.
- Battery Replacement: Replace all batteries with new ones of the same type when the unit's performance diminishes.
