SIG SAUER JULIET4 4X Magnifier (SOJ41001) Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

The SIG SAUER JULIET4 4X Magnifier is designed to provide 4x magnification for red dot sights, enhancing target acquisition at extended ranges. It can be used as a standalone magnification solution or in conjunction with various reflex optics. Constructed from aircraft-grade CNC aluminum, this magnifier is built for durability and features IPX-8 rated waterproofing for reliable performance in diverse conditions.

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Mounting the Magnifier

The JULIET4 Magnifier features a PowerCam 90-degree mount designed for quick attachment and detachment from M1913 Picatinny rails. The mount includes built-in recoil lugs to ensure a secure fit and maintain zero under recoil.

  • Ensure the firearm is unloaded and safe before installation.
  • Position the magnifier on the M1913 Picatinny rail behind your red dot sight.
  • Secure the quick-release mount by closing the lever. Ensure it is firmly attached without excessive force.

2.2 Height Adjustment

The JULIET4 Magnifier's height can be adjusted to align with various red dot sights. Included spacers allow for three different heights:

  • 1.41 inches: Standard height.
  • 1.53 inches: Mid-height.
  • 1.63 inches: Tallest height.

Select the appropriate spacer to achieve optimal optical alignment with your primary optic. Refer to the specific instructions for changing spacers, typically involving detaching the magnifier from the mount and reassembling with the desired spacer.

2.3 Diopter Adjustment

The eyepiece features a diopter adjustment ring to compensate for individual eyesight differences. Rotate the diopter ring until the reticle of your red dot sight appears sharp and clear through the magnifier.

3. Operation

3.1 Engaging and Disengaging Magnification

The PowerCam 90-degree mount allows for rapid transition between magnified and unmagnified viewing. To engage magnification, flip the magnifier into the inline position behind your red dot sight. To disengage magnification for close-quarters use, flip the magnifier to the side.

  • To deploy: Push the magnifier forward until it locks into place directly behind your red dot sight.
  • To stow: Push the magnifier to the side until it locks into the 90-degree offset position.

3.2 Windage and Elevation Adjustment

The JULIET4 features external windage and elevation adjustments to center the red dot within the magnifier's field of view. These adjustments do not affect the zero of your primary red dot sight.

  • Use a small tool or coin to turn the windage (side) and elevation (top) adjustment turrets.
  • Adjust until the red dot from your primary optic is centered in the magnifier's view.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Lenses

To maintain optical clarity, keep the lenses clean. Use a soft brush to remove loose dust and debris. For smudges or fingerprints, use a clean microfiber cloth and a lens cleaning solution. Avoid abrasive materials or excessive pressure, which can scratch the lens coatings.

4.2 Protecting the Magnifier

The JULIET4 is equipped with front and rear thread-in lens protectors to shield the optics from environmental elements and physical damage. Ensure these protectors are securely fastened when not in use or during transport.

4.3 Waterproofing

The JULIET4 Magnifier is IPX-8 rated, meaning it is protected against continuous immersion in water beyond 1 meter. While designed to be waterproof, it is recommended to dry the unit thoroughly after exposure to moisture to prevent water spots and maintain optimal performance.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Blurry Image: Adjust the diopter ring on the eyepiece until the image appears sharp. Ensure the lenses are clean and free from smudges.
  • Red Dot Not Centered: Use the windage and elevation adjustment turrets on the magnifier to center the red dot within the magnifier's field of view. These adjustments do not affect the zero of your primary red dot sight.
  • Magnifier Loose on Rail: Ensure the quick-release mount is properly secured and tightened on the M1913 Picatinny rail. Check for any obstructions preventing a firm lock.
  • Difficulty Flipping: Ensure the PowerCam mount mechanism is free of debris. Apply a small amount of appropriate lubricant if necessary, following manufacturer guidelines.
