Setup

1. Battery Installation

The remote requires two (2) AA batteries (not included). To install:

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote.
  2. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

2. Programming Your Devices

Automatic Code Search:

This method scans through codes to find the correct one for your device.

  1. Turn on the device you wish to control (e.g., TV, cable box).
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator light on the remote turns on.
  3. Press and release the device button you want to program (e.g., TV, CBL). The red indicator light will blink once and then remain lit.
  4. Point the remote at the device and press the POWER button repeatedly (approximately every 2 seconds) until the device turns off.
  5. Once the device turns off, press the ENTER button to save the code. The red indicator light will turn off.
  6. Test the remote's functions (volume, channel, power) to ensure proper operation. If not, repeat the process.

Direct Code Entry:

This method requires you to find your device's code from the included code list (or online resources) and enter it directly.

  1. Turn on the device you wish to control.
  2. Locate the 4-digit code for your device's brand in the provided code list.
  3. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator light on the remote turns on.
  4. Press and release the device button you want to program (e.g., TV, CBL). The red indicator light will blink once and then remain lit.
  5. Enter the 4-digit code using the number buttons. After entering the last digit, the red indicator light will turn off.
  6. Test the remote's functions (volume, channel, power) to ensure proper operation. If not, try the next code listed for your brand or use Automatic Code Search.

Once programmed, your GE Universal Remote is ready for use. Here are the basic operating functions:

  • Device Selection: Press the TV or CBL button to select the device you wish to control. The indicator light will briefly flash to confirm selection.
