5. Setup

5.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the MQ-U350 to a USB port on your computer or a USB wall adapter (not included). The device will charge automatically. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

5.2 Setting Date and Time

To ensure accurate date and time stamps on your recordings, connect the device to a computer. The device will appear as a removable drive. Locate and run the time synchronization utility (if provided on the device's memory) or follow instructions to manually set the time via a configuration file.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off and Recording

The MQ-U350 features a hidden switch for operation. To begin recording, slide the switch to the "ON" position. The device will typically indicate recording status with a small LED that may turn off after a few seconds to maintain discretion.

To stop recording, slide the switch to the "OFF" position. All recorded audio will be saved automatically.

6.2 Voice Operated System (VOS)

The VOS feature allows the recorder to automatically start recording when sound is detected and pause when silence occurs. This conserves battery life and memory space. The MQ-U350 has 5 levels of VOS sensitivity. Refer to the device's internal configuration files (accessible when connected to a computer) for instructions on adjusting VOS sensitivity.

6.3 Recording Quality Settings

The device supports XHQ (Extra High Quality) and HQ (High Quality) recording. The default setting is usually HQ. To change the recording quality, connect the device to a computer and modify the settings via a configuration file or dedicated software (if available on the device's memory).

6.4 Accessing and Playing Recordings

To access your recordings:

  1. Ensure the device is in the "OFF" position.
  2. Connect the MQ-U350 to a USB port on your computer.

  4. Open the drive to view your recorded audio files, typically in WAV or MP3 format.
  5. Copy the files to your computer for playback using any standard audio player.

7. Maintenance
