Setup & Installation
Before initial use, it is recommended to let the unit stand upright for at least 24 hours if it has been transported horizontally. This allows the compressor fluids to settle properly.
Power Connection
The Alpicool C15 supports multiple power supply modes:
- 12V/24V DC: Connect to your car's cigarette lighter socket. Ensure your vehicle's 12V socket provides continuous power if you intend to use it while the engine is off.
- 100-240V AC: Use the provided AC adapter to connect to a standard wall outlet for home or RV park use.
- Portable Power Station: Can be connected to a portable power station or solar panel setup for off-grid use.

Initial Setup
Once powered on, the unit will display the current internal temperature. You can adjust settings using the control panel on the top of the unit.
Operating Instructions
Temperature Control
Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the control panel to set your desired temperature. The unit can operate as a refrigerator (32°F~68°F) or a freezer (-4°F~32°F).
Battery Protection Settings
The unit features three battery protection levels (H1, H2, H3) to prevent excessive discharge of your vehicle's battery. You can select the desired level by pressing the 'SET' button for 3 seconds until 'H1', 'H2', or 'H3' appears, then cycle through the options. Higher settings offer more protection but may cause the unit to shut off sooner if battery voltage drops.
| Stage | 12V Input (Off/On) | 24V Input (Off/On) |
|---|---|---|
| H1 | 9.6V off; 10.9V on | 21.3V off; 22.7V on |
| H2 | 10.1V off; 11.4V on | 22.3V off; 23.7V on |
| H3 | 11.1V off; 12.4V on | 24.3V off; 25.7V on |
Advanced Settings (Hidden)
To access advanced settings, power off the unit, then press and hold the 'SET' button for 3 seconds until 'E1' appears. Use the 'SET' button to cycle through settings E1-E5. Use '+' and '-' to adjust values.
- E1: Lowest Temperature Setting (-40°C to Highest Temperature Setting)
- E2: Highest Temperature Setting (Lowest Temperature Setting to +20°C)
- E3: Temperature Return Setting (1-10°C, default 3°C)
- E4: Soft Start Setting (0-10 minutes, default 2 minutes)
- E5: Fahrenheit and Celsius Setting (F or C)
Note: Some users have reported discrepancies between the displayed temperature and actual internal temperature, especially at lower settings. Using an external thermometer is recommended for precise temperature monitoring.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Defrosting: If ice builds up, turn off the unit and allow the ice to melt naturally. Do not use sharp objects to remove ice.
- Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation grilles on the sides of the unit are not blocked to allow for proper heat dissipation.
Troubleshooting
- Plastic Odor: A strong plastic odor may be present upon unboxing. This typically dissipates within a couple of days of operation.
- Temperature Inaccuracy: If the displayed temperature seems inaccurate, especially at freezing temperatures, consider using the hidden E6-E8 settings for temperature compensation (refer to advanced settings table in the user manual for details).
- Power Cord Issues: Ensure the power cord is securely seated in the unit's socket. A loose connection can cause intermittent power or F1 error codes.
- F1 Error Code: This often indicates insufficient power supply. Try switching to a lower battery protection mode (H1 or H2) or ensure a stable power source.
