Operating Instructions
- Prime Unit (First Use Only): If using for the first time, set the pressure control dial to high (setting 10). Direct the tip into the sink. Turn the unit ON until water flows from the tip. Turn OFF the unit.
- Adjust Pressure: Turn the pressure control dial on the base of the unit to the lowest setting (1) for initial use. Gradually increase the pressure to a comfortable level. The device offers 10 pressure settings.
- Select Mode: Press the 'Floss' button for standard water flossing or the 'Massage' button for a pulsating gum massage.
- Begin Flossing: Lean over the sink and place the tip in your mouth. Close your lips enough to prevent splashing, but allow water to flow from your mouth into the sink. Turn the unit ON.
- Technique: Aim the water stream at the gumline at a 90-degree angle. Follow the gumline, pausing briefly between teeth. Continue until you have cleaned the inside and outside of both upper and lower teeth.
- Finish: Turn the unit OFF when finished or when the reservoir is empty.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and hygiene of your Waterpik Dental Flosser.
- Cleaning the Tip: After each use, remove the tip from the handle. Rinse the tip under running water. For thorough cleaning, tips can be placed in the top rack of a dishwasher.
- Cleaning the Reservoir: Empty any remaining water from the reservoir. It is recommended to rinse the reservoir with clean water after each use. For deeper cleaning, the reservoir is top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the main unit with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner as needed. Do not immerse the unit in water.
- Mineral Deposits: If hard water is used, mineral deposits may build up. To clean, add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar to a full reservoir of warm water. Run the unit until the reservoir is empty. Rinse by filling the reservoir with clean warm water and running the unit until empty.
