Setup
1. Charging Dock Placement
Place the charging dock against a wall in an open, uncluttered area. Ensure there is at least 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) of clear space on both sides of the dock and 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) in front of it. This allows the DEEBOT to easily locate and return to the dock.

2. Initial Charging
Connect the power adapter to the charging dock and plug it into a wall outlet. Place the DEEBOT onto the charging pins. Ensure the DEEBOT is fully charged before its first use, which may take approximately 4-5 hours. The handheld vacuum will also charge when docked.
3. App Installation and Connection
Download the "ECOVACS HOME" app from your mobile device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your DEEBOT R98 to your home Wi-Fi network. This enables smart features like scheduling, cleaning mode selection, and virtual boundary setting.

4. Smart Navi 2.0 Mapping
For optimal cleaning, allow the DEEBOT to complete an initial mapping run of your home. During this process, ensure all doors to areas you wish to clean are open and remove any obstacles. The DEEBOT will create a detailed map of your floor plan, which can be viewed and managed in the app.

- Spot Mode: For concentrated cleaning of a specific dirty area. Place the DEEBOT in the center of the area and activate Spot Mode via the app or button.
- Area Mode: Using the app, you can define specific areas on the map for the DEEBOT to clean.
