4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation (Main Base)
- Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the lantern base.
- Twist the battery cover counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it.
- Insert 4 or 8 D-cell batteries (sold separately) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity as indicated.
- Replace the battery cover and twist clockwise to lock it securely.
4.2 Panel Battery Installation (Pre-installed)
Each detachable light panel comes with 3 AAA NiMH batteries pre-installed. These panels recharge automatically when reattached to the main lantern base.
4.3 Attaching and Detaching Light Panels
The four light panels are designed to easily attach and detach from the main lantern base. To detach, simply pull a panel firmly away from the base. To reattach, align the panel with its slot on the base and push until it clicks into place. Ensure a secure connection for proper recharging.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Main Lantern Operation
- Press the power button on the top of the lantern to cycle through brightness modes: Low, Medium, High, and Off.
- The base light remains illuminated even when panels are removed, helping you find your way back to the main campsite.
5.2 Detachable Panel Operation
Each detached panel functions as a personal light with multiple features:
- Area Lighting: Press the power button on the panel to turn on the main LED array for area illumination.
- Directional Flashlight: Each panel has a built-in flashlight at the top. Press the power button on the panel again to activate the flashlight for directional light.
- Magnetic Attachment: The back of each panel features a magnetic system, allowing it to be attached to metal surfaces for hands-free lighting.
- Fold-Down Stand: A fold-down handle on each panel can be used as a stand to prop the panel up on a flat surface.
5.3 Mobile Device Charging
The Coleman Quad Pro 800L LED Lantern includes a USB charging port to power your mobile devices.
- Locate the USB output port on the top of the lantern base.
- Connect your mobile device's charging cable to this port.
- Ensure the lantern has sufficient battery power to charge your device.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Care
- The NiMH batteries in the detachable panels automatically recharge when the panels are seated on the main lantern base. Ensure the main base has power (D batteries installed) for panel recharging.
- Replace D-cell batteries in the main base when the light output diminishes significantly.
- If the lantern or panels are not used for extended periods, remove all batteries to prevent leakage and corrosion.
6.2 Cleaning
Wipe the lantern and panels with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure all parts are dry before storage.
