2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions during installation and operation:
- Disconnect the vehicle's battery before making any electrical connections.
- Ensure proper grounding to prevent electrical hazards.
- Use appropriate wire gauges for power and speaker connections.
- Mount the amplifier securely in a well-ventilated area.
- Avoid exposing the amplifier to moisture or extreme temperatures.
3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of your amplifier. If you are unsure about any step, consult a professional installer.
3.1 Mounting the Amplifier
Select a mounting location that is dry, well-ventilated, and secure. Ensure sufficient airflow around the amplifier's heat sinks. Use the provided mounting screws to secure the amplifier to a solid surface.

Figure 3.1: Top view of the amplifier, illustrating its compact design suitable for various mounting locations.
3.2 Electrical Connections
Refer to the connection panel images for proper wiring. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

Figure 3.2: Rear connection panel with power, ground, remote, and fuse terminals.
- Power (B+): Connect to the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery using an appropriate gauge power cable with an inline fuse near the battery.
- Ground (GND): Connect to a clean, bare metal chassis point of the vehicle. Ensure a solid electrical connection.
- Remote (REM IN/OUT): Connect the REM IN terminal to the remote turn-on output of your head unit. The REM OUT can be used to provide a remote signal to other devices.
- Speaker Output: Connect your subwoofer(s) to the speaker terminals. This amplifier supports a minimum load of 2 Ohm Mono.
3.3 Signal Input
The BP1000.1V2 offers versatile input options:

Figure 3.3: Front control panel with input and adjustment settings.
- RCA Input: For head units with RCA pre-outs. Connect the RCA cables from your head unit to the amplifier's RCA input jacks.
- High-Level Speaker Leads (OEM Line Converter): For factory radios without RCA outputs. Connect the speaker wires from your head unit directly to the high-level input terminals. The amplifier features a built-in OEM line converter and DC Offset Auto Sensing Turn On function, eliminating the need for a separate remote wire when using high-level inputs.
4. Operation and Adjustments
Once installed, adjust the amplifier settings for optimal audio performance.
4.1 Gain (Level) Control
The "Level" control (0.2V ~ 9V) matches the amplifier's input sensitivity to the output voltage of your head unit. Start with the gain at minimum and slowly increase it until you achieve a clear, undistorted sound at your desired volume level. Avoid setting the gain too high, as this can introduce distortion.
4.2 Crossover (X-OVER)
The BP1000.1V2 features a variable Low Pass Filter (LPF) to control the frequency range sent to your subwoofer(s).
- LPF (50Hz ~ 750Hz): Adjust this knob to set the upper frequency limit for the subwoofer. Frequencies above this setting will be filtered out. A common starting point for subwoofers is between 80Hz and 120Hz.
- OFF: Disables the low pass filter.
4.3 Bass Boost
The "Bass Boost" control (0dB ~ 12dB @ 45Hz) allows you to enhance low-frequency output. Use this feature sparingly, as excessive bass boost can lead to distortion and potential damage to your speakers.
4.4 Status Indicators
- Power LED (Green): Illuminates when the amplifier is powered on and operating normally.
- Protection LED (Red): Illuminates when the amplifier detects a fault (e.g., short circuit, overheating, low voltage) and enters protection mode. Refer to the Troubleshooting section if this LED activates.
5. Maintenance
The Massive Audio Blade BP1000.1V2 amplifier requires minimal maintenance. Keep the unit clean and free from dust and debris. Ensure that the heat sinks are not obstructed to allow for proper cooling. Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and corrosion.
6. Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your amplifier, consult the following table before contacting support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No Power (Power LED Off) | Blown fuse, poor power/ground connection, no remote signal. | Check fuses (on amplifier and inline), verify power and ground connections, ensure remote wire is connected and receiving 12V. |
| Protection LED On | Short circuit in speaker wiring, amplifier overheating, low voltage. | Check speaker wiring for shorts, ensure adequate ventilation, verify vehicle's battery voltage. Allow amplifier to cool down. |
| No Sound Output | Incorrect input connections, gain set too low, head unit issue. | Verify RCA or high-level input connections, adjust gain control, check head unit output. |
| Distorted Sound | Gain set too high, improper crossover settings, poor signal quality. | Reduce gain, adjust LPF and Bass Boost settings, check input signal quality. |
