Setup and Installation

Rack Mounting

The KVM 1708 is designed for standard 19-inch rack mounting. Use the included rack mount kit to secure the unit in your server rack. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

Connecting Computers

  1. Power Off: Ensure all computers and the KVM switch are powered off before making any connections.
  2. Connect KVM Cables: For each computer, connect one end of the supplied VGA/USB KVM cable to the corresponding VGA output and USB port on your computer.
  3. Connect to KVM Switch: Connect the other end of the KVM cable to an available PC port (PC1-PC8) on the rear of the KVM switch. Ensure the VGA connector is securely fastened and the USB connector is fully inserted.
  4. Connect External Console (Optional): If you wish to use an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse, connect them to the dedicated console ports on the rear of the KVM switch.
  5. Connect Power: Connect the power adapter to the DC12V input on the rear of the KVM switch, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  6. Power On: First, power on the KVM switch. Then, power on all connected computers.
