Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your barn door track kit.
Step 1: Prepare the Door and Wall
- Measure the width of your door. The track is designed for doors up to 37 inches wide.
- Determine the desired height for the track. Ensure there is sufficient clearance above the door opening.
- Use a stud finder to locate and mark the center of wall studs along the installation path. The track is designed to be mounted on 16-inch stud centers.
Step 2: Mount the Track
- Hold the track against the wall at the desired height, ensuring it is level. Mark the drilling points for the lag bolts, aligning with the wall studs.
- Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. For concrete or brick walls, use appropriate masonry drill bits and insert anchors.
- Attach the steel standoff bushings to the wall using the provided lag bolts, ensuring they are securely fastened.
- Mount the track onto the standoff bushings, securing it with the remaining fasteners. Ensure the track is firmly attached and level.

Step 3: Attach Rollers to the Door
- Place the door on a stable surface.
- Position the roller and bracket sets on the top edge of the door, ensuring they are evenly spaced and centered. The carrier brackets mount to the front side of the door.
- Mark the drilling points for the roller brackets.
- Drill pilot holes and securely attach the roller brackets to the door using the provided fasteners.
Step 4: Install Anti-Jump Spacers and Hang the Door
- Install the anti-jump spacers on the top edge of the door, near the rollers. These prevent the door from lifting off the track.
- Carefully lift the door and hook the rollers onto the track. Ensure the rollers are properly seated in the track.
Step 5: Install Door Stops and Bottom Guide
- Slide the adjustable track-mounted door stops onto the track. Position them to prevent the door from rolling too far in either direction and tighten them securely.
- Install the bottom center guide on the floor directly below the track. This guide prevents the bottom of the door from swinging out. Adjust its position to allow for smooth door movement without excessive play.
Operating Instructions
Once installed, the barn door system operates by manually sliding the door along the track. The precision ball bearing rollers ensure smooth and quiet operation. Gently push or pull the door to open or close it. The door stops will prevent the door from exceeding its intended travel limits.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the track and rollers with a clean, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Lubrication: If the rollers begin to squeak or feel stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the roller bearings. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they can attract dust.
- Fastener Check: Annually inspect all mounting fasteners (lag bolts, screws) to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Door Stops: Verify that the door stops are securely in place and functioning correctly.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Door does not slide smoothly | Dust/debris on track, rollers need lubrication, track not level, loose fasteners. | Clean track, lubricate rollers, check track level and adjust, tighten fasteners. |
| Door makes noise when sliding | Rollers need lubrication, debris in rollers, loose components. | Lubricate rollers, clean rollers, check and tighten all components. |
| Door swings out at the bottom | Bottom guide not installed or improperly adjusted. | Install or adjust the bottom center guide to properly engage the door. |
| Door comes off the track | Anti-jump spacers not installed or improperly positioned. | Ensure anti-jump spacers are installed correctly and are positioned to prevent the door from lifting. |
