5. Setup

5.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove the record player from its packaging.
  2. Place the unit on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or vibration.
  3. Remove any protective materials, including the stylus protector cap.

5.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the mains power cable to the DC 5V input port on the back of the record player.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable wall outlet.

5.3 External Audio Connections (Optional)

  • RCA Output: To connect to an external amplifier or powered speakers, use the supplied RCA cable. Connect the red plug to the R (right) output and the white plug to the L (left) output on the record player. Connect the other end to the corresponding input on your audio system.
  • AUX IN: To play audio from an external device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player), connect a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) from your device's headphone jack to the AUX IN port on the record player.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Playing a Vinyl Record

  1. Open the lid of the record player.
  2. Place a vinyl record on the turntable platter.
  3. Select the appropriate speed (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) using the speed selector switch, matching the record's speed. For 45 RPM records, place the 45 RPM adapter on the center spindle if needed.
  4. Set the Mode Selection Knob to 'PHONO'.
  5. Turn the Power Switch & Volume Control knob clockwise to power on the unit.
  6. If desired, set the Auto Stop ON/OFF switch to 'ON' for the platter to stop automatically at the end of the record.
  7. Gently lift the tone arm using the tone arm lifter.
  8. Move the tone arm over the desired starting track of the record.
  9. Slowly lower the tone arm onto the record using the tone arm lifter. The music will begin to play.
  10. Adjust the volume using the Power Switch & Volume Control knob.
  11. When the record finishes, lift the tone arm and return it to its rest. Turn the unit off by rotating the Power Switch & Volume Control knob counter-clockwise.

6.2 Bluetooth Mode

  1. Turn on the record player by rotating the Power Switch & Volume Control knob clockwise.
  2. Set the Mode Selection Knob to 'BT' (Bluetooth). The mode indicator light will flash, indicating pairing mode.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or other audio device and search for 'BT-DIGITNOW' or a similar device name.
  4. Select the record player from the list of available devices to pair. Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing and remain solid.
  5. Play audio from your connected device. The sound will be output through the record player's built-in speakers.
  6. Adjust the volume using both your connected device and the record player's volume control.

6.3 AUX IN Mode

  1. Turn on the record player.
  2. Connect your external audio device to the AUX IN port using a 3.5mm audio cable.
  3. Set the Mode Selection Knob to 'AUX IN'.
  4. Play audio from your connected device.
  5. Adjust the volume using both your connected device and the record player's volume control.

6.4 USB Recording

The record player supports converting vinyl records to digital audio files (WAV or MP3) via a USB connection to a computer. This process typically requires third-party software like Audacity, which is included on the provided CD.

  1. Install the Audacity software from the provided CD onto your computer.
  2. Connect the record player to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
  3. Open Audacity and configure the input device to recognize the record player.
  4. Start playing a vinyl record on the turntable.
  5. Initiate recording within the Audacity software.
  6. Once the record finishes, stop the recording in Audacity. You can then edit and save the audio file in your desired format (WAV, MP3, etc.).

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Unit

  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the surface.

7.2 Stylus Care and Replacement

  • The stylus is a delicate component. Handle it with care.
  • Avoid touching the stylus tip with your fingers.
  • Clean the stylus periodically with a soft brush, brushing gently from back to front.
  • A worn stylus can damage records and degrade sound quality. Replace the stylus after approximately 300-500 hours of playback. An extra stylus is included with your purchase.

7.3 Record Care

  • Always hold records by their edges or the center label.
  • Store records in their sleeves and upright to prevent warping.
  • Clean records regularly with a dedicated record cleaning brush or solution to remove dust and static.
