7. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Drying: Always ensure the thermometer is completely dry after use and before storage. Any residual water can cause it to remain active, leading to faster battery depletion.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or unresponsive. Use 2 LR44 batteries.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Dim Display: Check if the batteries are correctly installed or need replacement.
- Inaccurate Temperature Reading: Ensure the sensor on the bottom of the duck is fully submerged in water for bath temperature, or completely dry for room temperature. Avoid placing it near heat sources or drafts for room temperature readings.
- Rapid Battery Drain: Make sure the thermometer is completely dry when not in use. The presence of water can keep the sensor active.
