2. Safety Information

• Temperature Alarm: The thermometer features a high and low temperature alarm. It will flash and beep if the water is too hot (above 102°F / 39°C) or too cold (below 89.6°F / 32°C).
• Recommended Bath Temperature: The ideal bath water temperature for babies is between 100.4°F (38°C) and 104°F (40°C).

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The thermometer comes with 2 LR44 batteries pre-installed. If replacement is needed:

1. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the duck.
2. Use a coin to gently twist the battery cover counter-clockwise to open.
3. Insert two new LR44 batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Replace the battery cover and twist clockwise to securely close it. Ensure it is tightly sealed to maintain waterproof integrity.

5.2 Switching Temperature Units (Fahrenheit/Celsius)

When the thermometer is in time mode, simultaneously press the “+” and “-” buttons located on the bottom of the device to switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Measuring Bath Water Temperature

1. Ensure the thermometer is turned on.
2. Place the duck thermometer into the bath water. It will float on the surface.
3. The digital display will show the water temperature, updating every 3 seconds.
4. Observe the indicator light:
   • Green Light: Indicates the water temperature is within the safe range (approximately 90°F - 102°F / 32°C - 39°C).
   • Red Light & Beeping: Indicates the water is too hot (above 102°F / 39°C) or too cold (below 89.6°F / 32°C). Adjust water temperature accordingly.

6.2 Measuring Room Temperature

When the thermometer is not in water and is kept dry, it will automatically display the ambient room temperature.

6.3 Timer and Clock Function

The thermometer also functions as a clock and can display a timer. Refer to the buttons on the bottom of the device for setting the time and using the timer feature.

7. Maintenance and Care

• Cleaning: Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Drying: Always ensure the thermometer is completely dry after use and before storage. Any residual water can cause it to remain active, leading to faster battery depletion.
• Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or unresponsive. Use 2 LR44 batteries.

8. Troubleshooting

• No Display/Dim Display: Check if the batteries are correctly installed or need replacement.
• Inaccurate Temperature Reading: Ensure the sensor on the bottom of the duck is fully submerged in water for bath temperature, or completely dry for room temperature. Avoid placing it near heat sources or drafts for room temperature readings.
• Rapid Battery Drain: Make sure the thermometer is completely dry when not in use. The presence of water can keep the sensor active.
