XPOWER Misting Fan FM-48

Instruction Manual

Model: FM-48

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the XPOWER FM-48 Misting Fan. This heavy-duty, high-velocity fan is designed to provide effective outdoor cooling by lowering ambient temperatures, while also helping to keep dust, pollen, and flying insects at bay. It can also be used indoors as a powerful air circulator without the misting feature. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation to ensure safe and efficient use.

Setup

The XPOWER FM-48 Misting Fan is designed for quick and easy setup. Follow these steps to get your fan ready for use:

  1. Placement: Position the fan on a stable, level surface in the desired outdoor area. Ensure it is away from direct sunlight and any obstructions that might block airflow or mist distribution.
  2. Water Connection: Connect a standard garden hose to the fan's water inlet. Ensure the connection is secure to prevent leaks. The fan requires only a garden hose for its misting function.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the fan's three-pronged AC power plug into a grounded electrical outlet. The unit is ETL/CETL safety certified.
  4. Initial Check: Before turning on, ensure all connections are tight and the fan is positioned safely.

Operating Instructions

The FM-48 Misting Fan offers versatile operation for various cooling and air circulation needs:

  • Power On/Off and Speed Control: Use the 3-speed control switch located on the unit to turn the fan on and select your desired airflow speed (Low, Medium, High).
  • Misting Function: To activate misting, ensure the water hose is connected and the water supply is turned on. The fan will begin to produce a fine mist. The misting intensity is dependent on the water pressure and fan speed.
  • Directional Cooling: The fan features a 135-degree rotational stand, allowing you to adjust the angle of the airflow and mist for precise directional cooling.
  • Non-Misting Use: The FM-48 can be used as a powerful air circulator without the misting feature. Simply do not connect a water hose or turn off the water supply while the fan is running.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your XPOWER FM-48 Misting Fan:

  • Nozzle Cleaning: To prevent mineral buildup and clogging, it is recommended to remove the mist nozzles after each use and soak them in a descaling solution (e.g., CLR) or a vinegar-water mixture. Rinse thoroughly before reattaching.
  • General Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the fan with a damp cloth. The sealed motor design protects internal components from water and debris, but external cleanliness is still important.
  • Storage: When not in use, especially during off-season, ensure the fan is clean and dry. The durable housing features a convenient wrap-around design to keep the power cord and water hose neat for easy storage.
