Introduction
The Scosche HUD2 is a heads-up display unit designed to project essential vehicle information directly onto your windshield. This device connects to your vehicle's On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD-II) interface, providing real-time data such as speed, engine RPM, water temperature, and voltage. The multi-color LED display automatically adjusts brightness for optimal visibility in various lighting conditions, enhancing driving safety by keeping key information within your line of sight.

User Programmable Alerts
The HUD2 allows you to set custom alerts for various vehicle parameters. These alerts notify you when your vehicle reaches a predefined threshold for:
- Over-speed
- High-RPM
- High Temperature
- Voltage (low/high)
Refer to the detailed instructions in the included printed manual for specific steps on how to program these alerts.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Scosche HUD2, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the display or casing.
- Cable Care: Ensure the OBD-II cable is not pinched or excessively bent, which could lead to damage.
- Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, disconnect it from the vehicle and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display does not turn on. | Loose OBD-II connection; Vehicle not compatible; Vehicle ignition off. | Ensure the OBD-II cable is securely connected to both the vehicle port and the HUD2 unit. Verify your vehicle is 2001 or newer and has an OBD-II interface. Turn on vehicle ignition. |
| Display is dim or unclear. | Reflective film not used or improperly applied; Excessive ambient light. | Apply the reflective film to the windshield for better clarity. The display automatically adjusts brightness, but direct strong sunlight can still affect visibility. |
| Inaccurate speed/RPM readings. | Vehicle's ECU data discrepancy. | The HUD2 reads data directly from the vehicle's ECU. If discrepancies occur, consult your vehicle's manual or a qualified mechanic. |
| Unit makes a buzzing noise. | Loose connection; Internal component issue. | Check all cable connections. If the issue persists, contact Scosche customer support. |
