This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your Salter EK2408 Individual Filter Coffee Maker to Go. This appliance is designed for brewing a single cup of filter coffee using ground coffee or coffee pads.

Setup Before First Use

Before using your coffee maker for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Unpack all components and remove any packaging materials.
  2. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
  3. Wash the reusable filter and travel mug with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  4. Perform a trial run:
    • Fill the water reservoir with cold water up to the MAX fill line.
    • Place the reusable filter into the filter basket (without coffee).
    • Place the travel mug (without its lid) on the drip tray.
    • Close the lid securely.
    • Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet.
    • Press the power switch to start the brewing cycle.
    • Allow the water to run through completely. Discard the water.
  5. Your coffee maker is now ready for use.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew your coffee:

  1. Prepare the Filter: Open the lid of the coffee maker. Place the reusable filter into the filter basket.
  2. Add Coffee: Add your desired amount of ground coffee or a coffee pad into the reusable filter. For optimal taste, refer to coffee packaging for recommended quantities.

  3. Add Water: Fill the water reservoir with cold water. Do not exceed the MAX fill line. The travel mug has a capacity of 420ml, which is the recommended maximum water volume.
  4. Position Mug: Place the stainless steel travel mug (without its lid) onto the drip tray, ensuring it is centered under the coffee dispenser. Alternatively, a standard coffee mug can be used.

  5. Close Lid: Close the lid of the coffee maker securely.
  6. Start Brewing: Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet. Press the power switch. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.

  7. Brewing Complete: The brewing process typically takes 3-4 minutes. The indicator light will turn off when brewing is complete, and the appliance will automatically shut off.
  8. Serve: Carefully remove the travel mug. If using the travel mug, secure its lid for on-the-go consumption.

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.
