This versatile 2-in-1 tool is designed for precise cutting in various materials and angles, suitable for both professional and amateur use in woodworking and construction projects.
Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the tool and keep it for future reference.
2. Safety Instructions
Always prioritize safety when operating power tools. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces.
- Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection, hearing protection, and a dust mask. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the task. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
- Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
- Specific Saw Safety: Ensure the blade is sharp and correctly installed. Never remove the blade guard. Keep hands clear of the cutting area. Secure the workpiece firmly before cutting.

4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the saw from its packaging. Inspect all components for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. Ensure all parts listed in the packing list are present.
4.2 Securing the Saw
Mount the saw securely to a stable workbench or a compatible saw stand using appropriate fasteners. Ensure the saw is level and does not wobble during operation.
4.3 Blade Installation/Check
The saw comes with a 210mm blade pre-installed. Before first use, verify that the blade is securely fastened and the teeth are oriented correctly for cutting. Refer to the blade changing section for detailed instructions if re-installation is needed.
4.4 Adjusting Fences and Guides
Ensure all fences and guides are properly aligned and tightened. Adjust the sliding and parallel guides as needed for your specific cutting tasks.
5. Operating Instructions
The VITO PR1720 offers two primary modes of operation: Miter Saw and Table Saw.
5.1 Miter Saw Mode
This mode is ideal for cross-cutting and miter cuts.
- Setting Miter Angle: Loosen the miter lock knob, adjust the turntable to the desired angle (from -45° to +45°), and tighten the knob.
- Setting Bevel Angle: Loosen the bevel lock lever, tilt the saw head to the desired bevel angle (0° to 45°), and secure the lever.
- Workpiece Placement: Place the workpiece firmly against the fence and the miter base. Use the clamping flange to secure it.
- Cutting: Hold the handle firmly, press the trigger to start the motor, and slowly lower the saw blade through the workpiece. Allow the blade to reach full speed before cutting. Once the cut is complete, release the trigger and allow the blade to stop before raising the saw head.
5.2 Table Saw Mode
This mode is used for ripping and other cuts where the workpiece is fed over the stationary blade.
- Conversion: Carefully lift the saw head and lock it into the upright position, exposing the table saw surface. Ensure the blade guard for the table saw is in place.
- Adjusting Cutting Depth: Use the depth adjustment mechanism to set the desired cutting depth for the table saw blade. Maximum cutting depth is 30mm.
- Setting Rip Fence: Position the parallel guide (rip fence) to the desired width of cut and secure it.
- Cutting: Turn on the saw. Slowly and steadily feed the workpiece into the blade, keeping it firmly against the rip fence. Use a push stick for narrow pieces to keep your hands away from the blade.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your saw.
- Cleaning: After each use, disconnect the saw from the power supply and clean off sawdust and debris from the motor vents, blade guard, and table surfaces.
- Blade Inspection: Regularly check the saw blade for sharpness, damage, or missing teeth. Replace dull or damaged blades immediately.
- Lubrication: Periodically lubricate moving parts as indicated in the detailed maintenance section (if available in a full manual).
- Fasteners: Check all screws, bolts, and clamps for tightness. Tighten any loose fasteners.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your saw, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Saw Not Starting: Check the power connection, ensure the switch is in the ON position, and verify that the circuit breaker has not tripped.
- Poor Cut Quality: A dull or damaged blade is a common cause. Replace the blade. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the fences are properly aligned.
- Excessive Vibration/Noise: Check for loose components, a damaged blade, or an unbalanced blade. Disconnect power and inspect.
