The intelligently organized pockets ensure all your essentials are accessible when needed.

Features

  • Internal Hydration Sleeve: Accommodates up to a 3L reservoir (sold separately) for convenient hydration on the go.
  • Ventilated Backpanel: Features an adjustable shoulder harness for a personalized and comfortable fit, promoting airflow to reduce heat and sweat.
  • Stretch Mesh Pockets: Located on both sides of the pack, these provide convenient storage for water bottles and smaller items.
  • Zippered Hipbelt Pockets: Two zippered pockets on the hipbelt keep essential items secure and easily accessible.
  • Stow-On-The-Go Trekking Pole Attachment: Allows for quick attachment and carrying of trekking poles without removing the pack.
  • Integrated and Removable Raincover: Provides protection for your gear in wet weather conditions.

Setup

Adjusting Torso Length

The Stratos 24 features an adjustable torso length to ensure optimal fit and comfort. To adjust, loosen the shoulder harness straps and slide the harness up or down along the backpanel frame until it aligns with your torso length. Securely fasten the straps once the desired fit is achieved.

Hydration Reservoir Installation

Locate the internal hydration sleeve within the main compartment. Insert your 3-liter hydration reservoir (sold separately) into the sleeve. Route the hydration hose through the designated port on the top of the pack and secure it to the shoulder strap for easy access while hiking.

Fitting the Hipbelt

The seamless hipbelt is designed for comfort and load distribution. Position the hipbelt so that it rests comfortably on your iliac crest (hip bones). Tighten the hipbelt straps evenly to secure the pack, ensuring the majority of the pack's weight is transferred to your hips.

Operating the Pack

Using the Stow-On-The-Go Trekking Pole Attachment

To attach trekking poles, locate the elastic loop on the lower left side of the pack and the bungee cord loop on the left shoulder strap. Pass the trekking pole tips through the lower elastic loop. Then, secure the pole handles under the bungee cord loop on the shoulder strap. This allows for quick storage and retrieval without removing the pack.

Deploying the Integrated Raincover

The integrated raincover is stored in a zippered pocket at the bottom of the pack. Unzip the pocket, pull out the raincover, and stretch it over the entire pack, securing it with the elastic edges and toggle. Ensure all contents are protected from rain.

Accessing Pockets

Utilize the stretch mesh side pockets for water bottles or quick-access items. The zippered hipbelt pockets are ideal for small essentials like snacks, a phone, or a GPS device, keeping them within reach while on the move.

Maintenance

Cleaning Instructions

The Osprey Stratos 24 backpack should be hand washed only. Use mild soap and cool water. Do not use bleach or harsh detergents. Rinse thoroughly and hang to air dry away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ensure the pack is completely dry before storage to prevent mildew.

Storage

Store the backpack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid compressing the pack for extended periods to maintain the integrity of the frame and padding.

Troubleshooting

Discomfort During Wear

If you experience discomfort, re-check the torso length adjustment and ensure the hipbelt is properly positioned and tightened. Adjust shoulder straps and load lifters to distribute weight evenly. Refer to the 'Setup' section for detailed adjustment instructions.

Difficulty with Hydration Reservoir

Ensure the hydration reservoir is correctly seated in its sleeve and the hose is not kinked. Check that the bite valve is clean and functioning properly. If issues persist, inspect the reservoir for leaks or damage.
