Setup
Before first use, ensure the unit is placed on a flat, stable surface near a power outlet and a sink.
- Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Clean Reservoir: Wash the removable reservoir with warm soapy water. It is top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Insert Tip: Select the desired flossing tip and firmly insert it into the handle until it clicks into place.
- Fill Reservoir: Fill the reservoir with warm water. You may also add a small amount of mouthwash if desired. Place the reservoir back onto the base.
- Plug In: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for effective water flossing:
- Prepare: Lean over the sink and place the tip into your mouth.
- Turn On: Turn the unit ON using the power button on the base.
- Adjust Pressure: Start with the lowest pressure setting (dial on the base) and gradually increase it over time to a comfortable level. The Aquarius offers 10 pressure settings.
- Aim Tip: Aim the tip along the gumline at a 90-degree angle.
- Floss: Turn the water ON using the switch on the handle. Pause briefly between teeth to allow water to flow from your mouth into the sink. Floss both the inside and outside surfaces of your upper and lower teeth.
- Timer/Pacer: The built-in timer will briefly pause at 30 seconds and 1 minute to help you track your flossing time and ensure you clean all quadrants of your mouth.
- Finish: When finished, turn the water OFF on the handle, then turn the unit OFF on the base. Empty any remaining water from the reservoir.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Waterpik Aquarius Water Flosser.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, empty any remaining water from the reservoir.
- Reservoir Cleaning: The reservoir is top-rack dishwasher safe. For manual cleaning, wash with warm soapy water.
- Tip Cleaning: Tips can be cleaned by rinsing them under warm water. For thorough cleaning, soak tips in a solution of 2 parts water and 1 part white vinegar for 5-7 minutes.
- Unit Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner as needed. Do not immerse the unit in water.
- Prevent Mineral Deposits: To prevent mineral deposits, especially if you have hard water, run a solution of 2 tablespoons of white vinegar to 16 ounces of warm water through the unit every 1 to 3 months.
