1. Introduction

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The device requires 2 AAA batteries. To install:

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Cuff Connection

Connect the NIBP cuff to the monitor unit:

  1. Locate the air tube connector on the side of the ABPM50 unit.
  2. Firmly insert the cuff's air tube connector into the port until it clicks into place.

4.3 Cuff Placement

Proper cuff placement is crucial for accurate readings:

  1. Slide the cuff onto your upper arm, ensuring the air tube is positioned over the brachial artery (inner side of the arm).
  2. The bottom edge of the cuff should be approximately 2-3 cm above the elbow joint.
  3. Wrap the cuff snugly around your arm, but not too tightly. The index line on the cuff should fall within the "RANGE" indicator.
  4. Rest your arm on a flat surface with your palm facing upwards. Ensure the cuff is at heart level.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Device Overview and Controls

The ABPM50 features a color TFT display and several control buttons:

5.2 Taking a Measurement (Instant Mode)

  1. Ensure the cuff is correctly placed on your arm.
  2. Press the On/Off button to power on the device.
  3. From the main screen, press the Start/Stop button (green button) to begin a measurement. The cuff will inflate, and the measurement will proceed automatically.
  4. Remain still and quiet during the measurement.
  5. Once complete, your systolic, diastolic, and pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.

5.3 Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM)

For 24-hour continuous monitoring:

  1. Access the device's menu to select the ABPM mode.
  2. Set the desired measurement intervals (e.g., every 15, 30, or 60 minutes).
  3. Ensure the cuff is securely and comfortably placed for extended wear.
  4. Wear the device using the provided carrying case and strap for convenience.
  5. The device will automatically take measurements at the set intervals.

6.1 On-Device Data Review

The ABPM50 can store up to 350 groups of NIBP data. To review data on the device:

6.2 PC Software Communication

The device can connect to a PC for advanced data analysis and reporting:

  1. Install the provided PC software on your computer (compatible with Windows 10).
  2. Connect the ABPM50 to your PC using the supplied USB cable.
  3. Launch the software to download NIBP measurement results from the device.
  4. The software allows for:
    • Data review and analysis.
    • Display of scoop-shape trend graphs, filling-type trend graphs, histograms, pie charts, and correlation line graphs.
    • Editing of NIBP data and adding annotations.
    • Editing basic patient information, doctor's advice, NIBP status, and current medication.
    • Printing comprehensive reports.
