4. Setup

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the packaging. Verify that all included components (coffee maker, coffee cup with lid, measuring spoon, removable water tank) are present.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the removable water tank, permanent drip filter, coffee cup, and lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Insert Battery: Ensure the coffee maker is turned off. Insert a charged Makita 18V LXT or 12V max CXT Lithium-Ion battery into the battery slot until it clicks into place.
  4. Fill Water Tank: Open the water tank lid. Remove the clear removable water tank. Fill the tank with fresh, clean water up to the desired level (maximum 5 oz per brew). Reinsert the water tank and close the lid securely.

  6. Prepare Coffee Filter: Open the coffee filter holder. For ground coffee, place the permanent drip filter into the holder. For single-serve packs, place the pack directly into the holder. Close the holder.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Place Coffee Cup: Position the included Makita coffee cup (or a compatible cup with a maximum 3-1/2" clearance) under the coffee dispenser.
  2. Add Coffee:
    • For Ground Coffee: Use the measuring spoon to add your desired amount of ground coffee into the permanent drip filter. Do not overfill.
    • For Single-Serve Packs: Place one single-serve coffee pack into the filter holder.
  3. Start Brewing: Press the power button located on the front of the coffee maker. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
  4. Brewing Time: The coffee maker brews one 5 oz cup of coffee in approximately 5 minutes when powered by an 18V LXT battery.
  5. Completion: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically turn off. Carefully remove your hot coffee cup.
  6. Battery Life: A single 5.0Ah LXT battery charge can brew up to three 5 oz cups of coffee.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker.

  • After Each Use:
    • Remove and discard used coffee grounds or single-serve packs.
    • Wash the permanent drip filter, coffee filter holder, removable water tank, coffee cup, and lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
    • Wipe down the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Descaling (Periodically): Depending on water hardness, mineral deposits may accumulate. Descale the coffee maker periodically using a descaling solution or a mixture of white vinegar and water. Follow the descaling product's instructions or run several cycles with the vinegar solution, followed by several cycles with plain water to rinse.
  • Storage: Ensure all components are clean and dry before storing. Store the coffee maker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
