4.1 Main Unit Controls and Features
The central unit houses the CD player, display, and primary controls. Refer to Figure 4.1 for visual reference.
- POWER Button: Turns the unit on or off.
- FUNCTION Button: Selects the input source (CD, AM/FM, AUX, Bluetooth, USB).
- VOLUME -/+ Buttons: Adjusts the audio volume level.
- TUNING -/+ Buttons: Adjusts radio frequency in Radio mode; navigates tracks in CD/USB mode.
- STOP/BAND Button: Stops CD/USB playback; selects AM/FM band in Radio mode.
- PLAY/PAUSE Button: Starts or pauses CD/USB playback.
- OPEN Button: Opens the CD tray.
- Display: Shows current time, selected function, track number, or radio frequency.
- IR Sensor: Receives signals from the remote control.
- Compact Disc Digital Audio Logo: Indicates CD playback capability.
4.2 Speakers
The system includes two external speakers that connect to the main unit. These speakers provide stereo sound output.
5. Setup
5.1 Placement
Place the main unit and speakers on a stable, flat surface. For optimal stereo sound, position the speakers equidistant from the listening area and spaced apart from each other.
- Avoid placing the unit in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
5.2 Connecting Speakers
Connect the speaker wires from each speaker to the corresponding speaker terminals on the back of the main unit. Ensure correct polarity (e.g., red to red, black to black) for optimal sound quality.
5.3 Power Connection
Plug the power cord into the AC inlet on the back of the main unit, then plug the other end into a standard wall outlet (AC 120V ~ 60Hz).
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
Press the POWER button on the front panel or the remote control to turn the unit on or off.
6.2 Source Selection
Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to cycle through available input sources: CD, AM, FM, AUX, Bluetooth, USB.
6.3 CD Playback
- Press the FUNCTION button to select "CD" mode.
- Press the OPEN button to open the CD tray.
- Place a CD (compact disc) with the label side facing up into the tray.
- Press the OPEN button again to close the tray. The unit will begin reading the disc.
- Press PLAY/PAUSE to start or pause playback.
- Use TUNING -/+ buttons to skip to the previous or next track.
- Press STOP/BAND to stop playback.
6.4 Radio Operation (AM/FM)
- Press the FUNCTION button to select "AM" or "FM" mode.
- Press the STOP/BAND button to switch between AM and FM bands.
- Use TUNING -/+ buttons to manually tune to a desired frequency.
- To auto-scan for stations, press and hold TUNING -/+ buttons for a few seconds. The unit will stop at the next strong signal.
6.5 Auxiliary Input (AUX)
Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX IN jack on the front or back of the unit using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included). Press the FUNCTION button to select "AUX" mode. Audio from the connected device will play through the stereo system.
6.6 Bluetooth Connectivity
This system supports Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming.
- Press the FUNCTION button to select "Bluetooth" mode. The display will show "BT" and flash, indicating it's ready for pairing.
- On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "ONN ONB15AV203-BLK" (or similar name) from the list of devices.
- Once paired, the display will stop flashing, and you can play audio from your device wirelessly through the stereo system.
6.7 USB Playback
The unit features a USB port for playing audio files from a USB flash drive.
- Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port on the front panel.
- Press the FUNCTION button to select "USB" mode. The unit will automatically begin playing compatible audio files.
- Use PLAY/PAUSE to control playback.
- Use TUNING -/+ buttons to navigate between tracks.
6.8 Volume Control
Use the VOLUME -/+ buttons on the front panel or the remote control to adjust the listening volume.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning the Unit
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
7.2 CD Lens Care
If the CD player experiences reading errors, a CD lens cleaner disc (not included) can be used to clean the laser lens. Do not touch the lens directly.
