Waterproof Seal Care
To maintain the IP67 waterproof rating, always ensure that all port covers (charging, AUX, USB) on the back of the speaker are fully and securely closed before exposing the speaker to water or moisture. Failure to do so can cause irreparable damage.
Battery Care
For optimal battery longevity, avoid fully discharging the speaker frequently. Charge the speaker regularly, even if not in constant use. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
Troubleshooting
Speaker Not Powering On or Charging
- Ensure the charging cable is securely connected to both the speaker and the power source.
- Verify the power source is active and providing power.
- If the speaker "just stops working" or fails to charge, a common issue can be a loose internal battery connection or a frozen motherboard.
- Advanced Troubleshooting (Proceed with caution, may void warranty):
- Gently remove the rubberized outer skin of the speaker.
- Carefully pry open the speaker casing (usually on the back) to access the internal components. Note that there may be 6 small Phillips screws deep inside holes that need to be removed.
- Locate the motherboard, wires, and cylindrical battery.
- Identify the battery holder and remove its screw.
- Carefully pull the battery connection entirely out. Be cautious as wires are small.
- Reconnect the battery.
- Press the power button. If you hear "Welcome to Altec Lansing!", the issue may be resolved.
- You may also gently pull and replace other connections to reset the motherboard.
- Ensure the battery is centered and not clinging to the speakers' magnets. Adjust main power source wires for extra slack.
- Carefully reassemble the speaker.
- If the issue persists after attempting advanced troubleshooting, or if you are uncomfortable performing these steps, contact customer support.
