3. Setup

  1. Inspect the Cord: Before first use, visually inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, such as cuts, frayed wires, or bent pins. Do not use if damaged.
  2. Connect to Cooler: Locate the 12V DC input port on your compatible Igloo cooler. Align the 2-pin B-shape connector of the PWR+ cord with the cooler's port and firmly insert it. Ensure a secure connection.
  3. Connect to Vehicle: Insert the car adapter end of the power cord into your vehicle's 12V DC accessory outlet (cigarette lighter socket). Push firmly until it is fully seated.

4. Operation

Once the power cord is securely connected to both your Igloo cooler and the vehicle's 12V DC outlet, your cooler should begin to operate. Most Igloo thermoelectric coolers have a switch for 'Cool' or 'Warm' settings. Refer to your specific cooler's manual for detailed operating instructions regarding temperature settings.

  • Ensure your vehicle's engine is running or the accessory power is active to provide continuous power to the cooler.
  • Avoid leaving the cooler connected to the vehicle's battery for extended periods without the engine running, as this may drain the battery.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the power cord and connectors clean and free from dust, dirt, or moisture. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
  • Storage: When not in use, coil the cord neatly and secure it with the reusable cable tie. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Fuse Check: The car adapter contains a replaceable fuse (F15AL 6x30mm Fuse) for protection. If the cooler stops receiving power, check and replace the fuse if necessary. Always use a fuse with the correct rating.
  • Avoid Stress: Do not bend the cord sharply or place heavy objects on it, especially near the connectors, to prevent internal wire damage.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Cooler Not Powering On:
    • Ensure both ends of the power cord are securely connected.
    • Verify the vehicle's 12V DC outlet is functioning (test with another device if possible).
    • Check the fuse within the car adapter. Replace if blown (refer to Maintenance section).
    • Confirm your Igloo cooler is switched on and set to the desired mode (Cool/Warm).
  • Loose Connection: If the connection feels loose, ensure the car adapter is fully inserted into the vehicle's outlet. The 2-pin cooler plug should also be firmly seated.
  • Overheating: If the cord or adapter feels excessively hot, disconnect it immediately. This could indicate an issue with the cooler, the vehicle's outlet, or the cord itself. Discontinue use and contact support.
