4. Safety Guidelines
- Operate the drone in open areas, away from people, animals, and obstacles.
- Do not fly near airports or restricted airspace.
- Avoid flying in strong winds or adverse weather conditions.
- Keep fingers and hair away from rotating propellers.
- Ensure the battery is fully charged before each flight.
- Supervise children during drone operation.
- Do not modify the drone or its components.
5. Setup
5.1 Drone Assembly
- Unfold the Arms: Gently extend the four arms of the drone until they lock into position. Refer to the foldable design image in Section 3.
- Install Propellers: Attach the propellers to the motor shafts, ensuring correct orientation (A and B propellers are typically marked and correspond to specific motor positions). Secure with screws if necessary.
- Install Landing Gear: Attach the landing gear to the bottom of the drone.
5.2 Battery Installation and Charging
- Charge Drone Battery: Connect the drone battery to the USB charging cable, then plug the USB cable into a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter). The indicator light will show charging status and turn off when fully charged.
- Install Drone Battery: Open the battery compartment on the drone and insert the fully charged battery. Connect the battery connector to the drone's power port. Close the compartment securely.
- Install Transmitter Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the remote transmitter and insert 4x AAA batteries (not included), observing polarity. Close the compartment.
5.3 Transmitter Overview

Image: A detailed diagram of the TOZO Q1012 X8tw drone's remote transmitter, labeling various controls such as the LCD display, accelerator/left and right rotatory rocker, front rear left and right rocker, fine-tuning buttons, power switch, light switch, speed toggle, and automatic landing/emergency stop buttons.
- LCD Display: Shows flight information.
- Left Stick (Accelerator/Left & Right Rotatory Rocker): Controls altitude (up/down) and rotation (left/right).
- Right Stick (Front Rear Left & Right Rocker): Controls forward/backward and left/right movement.
- Fine Tuning Buttons: Adjust drone drift for stable flight.
- Power Switch: Turns the transmitter on/off.
- Light Switch: Controls drone LED lights.
- High/Intermediate/Low Speed Toggle: Changes flight speed.
- Automatic Landing Button: Press and hold for 2 seconds to initiate automatic landing.
- Emergency Stop: Press both bottom buttons simultaneously for emergency stop.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Pairing the Drone and Transmitter
- Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
- Turn on the drone's power switch. The drone's indicator lights will flash.
- Turn on the transmitter's power switch.
- Push the left throttle stick (accelerator) fully up, then pull it fully down. The drone lights will stop flashing and remain solid, indicating successful pairing.
6.2 Calibration
After pairing, perform a gyroscope calibration for stable flight:
- Ensure the drone is on a flat surface.
- Push both control sticks down and to the right simultaneously (as shown in step 3 of the "How to Take Off" image). The drone lights will flash rapidly and then become solid, indicating successful calibration.
6.3 How to Take Off

Image: A six-step visual guide demonstrating the take-off procedure for the TOZO Q1012 X8tw drone, including pushing the throttle up and down for pairing, calibrating by pushing both sticks down-right, unlocking by pushing both sticks down-left, and finally pushing the left stick up to take off.
- Pairing: Push the throttle lever up (1), then down (2).
- Calibration: Push both control sticks down and to the right (3).
- Unlock: Push both control sticks down and to the left (4). The propellers will start spinning slowly.
- Take Off: Push the left throttle stick up to ascend (6).
6.4 Flight Control
- Ascend/Descend: Use the left stick (throttle) up or down.
- Forward/Backward: Use the right stick up or down.
- Turn Left/Right (Yaw): Use the left stick left or right.
- Fly Left/Right (Roll): Use the right stick left or right.
- Altitude Hold: Once the drone reaches a desired altitude, release the left stick, and the drone will attempt to maintain that height.
- Headless Mode: Press the Headless Mode button (refer to transmitter diagram). The drone will orient itself relative to the pilot, regardless of its front direction. Press again to exit.
- 360-Degree Flips: Press the 3D Flip button, then push the right stick in the desired flip direction.
6.5 Landing
- Manual Landing: Slowly pull the left throttle stick down until the drone lands.
- Automatic Landing: Press and hold the automatic landing button on the transmitter for 2 seconds. The drone will descend and land automatically.
6.6 FPV and Camera Operation (via Phone WiFi Direct Control)

Image: Displays two methods of controlling the TOZO Q1012 X8tw drone: via the included transmitter with a phone monitor attached, or directly via phone WiFi control using a compatible iOS/Android app. It also notes that data is stored directly on the phone, eliminating the need for a TF card.
- Download App: Search for the official TOZO drone app on your smartphone's app store (iOS/Android).
- Connect to Drone WiFi: Turn on the drone. On your smartphone, go to WiFi settings and connect to the drone's WiFi network (e.g., "TOZO-Q1012-XXXX").
- Launch App: Open the TOZO drone app. You should see a live FPV feed from the drone's camera.
- Record Video/Take Photos: Use the controls within the app to start/stop video recording or take still photos. Captured media is stored directly on your phone.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone body and camera lens. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Propeller Replacement: If a propeller is damaged, replace it with a new one from the spare parts. Ensure the correct propeller type (A or B) is installed on the corresponding motor.
- Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not overcharge or over-discharge.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries from both the drone and transmitter. Store the drone in a cool, dry environment.
8. Troubleshooting
- Drone not responding to transmitter:
- Ensure both drone and transmitter are powered on.
- Re-pair the drone and transmitter (Section 6.1).
- Check transmitter batteries.
- Drone unstable during flight/drifting:
- Perform gyroscope calibration (Section 6.2).
- Use the fine-tuning buttons on the transmitter to correct drift.
- Check for damaged propellers and replace if necessary.
- No FPV feed on smartphone:
- Ensure the drone's WiFi is enabled and your phone is connected to it.
- Restart the drone and the app.
- Check app permissions on your phone.
- Short flight time:
- Ensure the drone battery is fully charged.
- Battery life may decrease over time; consider replacing old batteries.
