1. Introduction

The EagleTec K104-A Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo provides a reliable and efficient solution for your computing needs. 3. Setup Instructions

3.1. Battery Installation

  1. For the Keyboard: Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard. Open the cover and insert two AAA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment cover.
  2. For the Mouse: Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the mouse. Open the cover and insert one AA battery (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment cover.

3.2. Connecting the USB Nano Receiver

  1. Remove the USB Nano Receiver from its storage slot, typically found within the mouse's battery compartment or on the underside of the mouse.
  2. Plug the USB Nano Receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Your computer will automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. This is a plug-and-play process and usually takes a few seconds.

Once the drivers are installed, the keyboard and mouse should be ready for use. No additional software is required.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Keyboard Operation

  • Standard Layout: The keyboard features a full-size QWERTY layout with a dedicated numeric keypad for efficient data entry.
  • Shortcut Keys: Twelve multimedia and function shortcut keys (F1-F12) provide quick access to common functions such as media playback control, volume adjustment, internet browser, and email. These functions are typically activated by pressing the 'Fn' key in combination with the respective F-key.
  • Splash-Resistant Design: The keyboard is designed to withstand minor spills, offering enhanced durability. In case of a spill, immediately disconnect the receiver and allow the keyboard to dry completely before reuse.

4.2. Mouse Operation

  • Ergonomic Design: The mouse is shaped for comfortable long-term use, reducing strain on your hand.
  • Adjustable DPI: The mouse offers adjustable DPI (Dots Per Inch) settings of 1000, 1500, and 2000. Press the DPI button, usually located behind the scroll wheel, to cycle through these sensitivity settings. A higher DPI setting results in faster cursor movement.
  • Scroll Wheel: Use the scroll wheel for vertical scrolling in documents and web pages. It can also function as a middle click button.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the keyboard and mouse. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the devices. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when performance degrades or the low battery indicator (if present) illuminates. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries to prevent leakage and store the devices in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Response from Keyboard/Mouse:

    • Try plugging the receiver into a different USB port.
    • Ensure the keyboard and mouse are within the effective operating range (typically up to 10 meters) of the receiver.
    • Restart your computer.
  • Lag or Intermittent Connection:
    • Move the receiver closer to the keyboard and mouse.
    • Avoid placing the receiver near other wireless devices, large metal objects, or sources of electromagnetic interference (e.g., microwaves, Wi-Fi routers).
    • Ensure there are no physical obstructions between the devices and the receiver.
  • Mouse Cursor Jumps or is Inaccurate:
    • Clean the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse.
    • Use the mouse on a suitable, non-reflective surface. A mouse pad is recommended.
    • Adjust the DPI setting to a lower sensitivity if the cursor is too fast.
