1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the kwmobile Door and Window Alarm System. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective installation, operation, and maintenance of your new security alarms. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.
2. Safety Information
- Battery Safety: Always insert batteries with correct polarity (+ and -). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period. Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
- Placement: Ensure the alarm unit and magnetic sensor are installed on a clean, dry surface. Avoid placing near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Magnetic Gap: For proper function, the distance between the alarm unit and the magnetic sensor must not exceed 10 mm when the door or window is closed.
- Sound Level: The alarm produces a loud 100 dB sound. Avoid prolonged exposure to the sound at close range to prevent hearing discomfort.
- Children: Keep the device and its components out of reach of children.

4. Product Overview
Each kwmobile Door and Window Alarm set consists of two main components: the alarm unit and the magnetic sensor. The alarm unit houses the siren, battery compartment, and an ON/OFF switch. The magnetic sensor is a smaller, passive component that interacts with the alarm unit.

5. Setup and Installation
The kwmobile Door and Window Alarm system is designed for easy, tool-free installation using adhesive strips.
- Prepare the Surface: Clean the surface of the door or window frame where you intend to install the alarm. Ensure it is dry and free of dust or grease.
- Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the alarm unit and insert two AAA 1.5V batteries, observing the correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
- Position the Alarm Unit: Peel off the protective film from the adhesive strip on the back of the main alarm unit. Attach the alarm unit to the door or window frame.
- Position the Magnetic Sensor: Peel off the protective film from the adhesive strip on the back of the magnetic sensor. Attach the magnetic sensor to the moving part of the door or window (the door/window itself), directly adjacent to the alarm unit.
- Ensure Proper Alignment: The alarm unit and the magnetic sensor must be aligned so that their marked sides (often indicated by small lines or arrows) are facing each other. Crucially, when the door or window is closed, the gap between the alarm unit and the magnetic sensor must not exceed 10 mm (approximately 0.4 inches).
- Test Installation: After installation, switch the alarm to the 'ON' position. Open the door or window to separate the alarm unit and magnetic sensor. The alarm should sound. Close the door or window; the alarm should stop.

6. Operating Instructions
The kwmobile Door and Window Alarm operates on a simple magnetic principle.
- Activating the Alarm: Locate the small switch on the side of the main alarm unit. Slide the switch to the 'ON' position. The alarm is now armed.
- Triggering the Alarm: When the alarm is armed ('ON' position), if the door or window it is installed on is opened, the magnetic sensor will separate from the main alarm unit. If this separation exceeds the 10 mm threshold, the 100 dB siren will immediately sound.
- Deactivating the Alarm: To stop the alarm from sounding or to disarm the system, slide the switch on the main alarm unit to the 'OFF' position. The alarm will cease to function until reactivated.
7. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: When the alarm sound becomes weak or the unit stops functioning, it is time to replace the batteries. Each alarm unit requires two AAA 1.5V batteries. Open the battery compartment, remove the old batteries, and insert new ones, ensuring correct polarity.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the alarm units. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the units in water.
- Regular Testing: Periodically test your alarms by arming them and opening the protected door or window to ensure they are functioning correctly.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Alarm does not sound when triggered. | Batteries are dead or incorrectly inserted. Alarm is in 'OFF' position. Gap between units is too large. | Replace batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Slide switch to 'ON'. Re-position units to ensure gap is < 10 mm. |
| Alarm sounds continuously or falsely triggers. | Units are not properly aligned. Gap between units is too small or inconsistent. | Ensure units are perfectly aligned. Adjust position to maintain a consistent gap of < 10 mm when closed, but allowing separation when opened. Check for vibrations or movement that might cause slight separation. |
| Alarm sound is weak. | Low battery power. | Replace batteries. |
