4. Setup and Installation
- Connect the Sensor: Insert the NTC sensor probe into the designated port on the side of the DTC102 controller unit. Ensure it is securely connected.
- Position the Sensor: Place the sensor probe in the environment where you wish to monitor and control the temperature. Ensure the probe is fully submerged if used in liquid, or properly positioned to accurately measure air temperature.
- Connect Heating/Cooling Devices:
- Plug your heating device (e.g., heat mat, heater) into the socket labeled "HEATING" on the controller's outlet.
- Plug your cooling device (e.g., fan, chiller) into the socket labeled "COOLING" on the controller's outlet.

Figure 4.1: Ensure heating and cooling devices are plugged into the correct outlets.
- Power On: Plug the main power cord of the DTC102 controller into a standard 110V AC power outlet. The LED display will illuminate, showing the current temperature (PV) and default settings.
5. Operating Instructions
The DTC102 controller features a simple three-button interface: SET, UP (▲), and DOWN (▼).

Figure 5.1: Front panel of the DTC102 controller.
5.1. Setting the Target Temperature (SV)
- Press the SET button once. The "SV" value on the display will begin to flash.
- Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons to adjust the desired target temperature.
- Press the SET button again to confirm and save the setting.
5.2. Advanced Settings (CD, HD, CA, LA, HA, PT)
To access advanced settings, press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds until "F1" appears on the display. Use UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) to navigate through parameters (F1-F6). Press SET to enter a parameter, adjust with UP (▲)/DOWN (▼), and press SET again to save.
| Parameter | Description | Range | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| F1 (CD) | Cooling Differential: Temperature difference for cooling to activate/deactivate. | 0.1-30°C / 0.1-54°F | 3°C / 5.4°F |
| F2 (HD) | Heating Differential: Temperature difference for heating to activate/deactivate. | 0.1-30°C / 0.1-54°F | 3°C / 5.4°F |
| F3 (CA) | Compressor Delay: Delay time before compressor starts (for cooling). | 0-10 minutes | 0 minutes |
| F4 (LA) | Low Temperature Alarm: Sets the minimum temperature before an alarm sounds. | -40°C to SV | -40°C / -40°F |
| F5 (HA) | High Temperature Alarm: Sets the maximum temperature before an alarm sounds. | SV to 120°C | 120°C / 248°F |
| F6 (PT) | Temperature Unit: Switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F). | °C / °F | °C |
Example for setting SV, CD, HD (from A+ content): If you want your device to work within 30°F~36°F, set SV (Set Temperature) = (36°F - 30°F) / 2 + 30°F = 33°F. Then, CD (Cooling Differential) = 36°F - 33°F = 3°F, and HD (Heating Differential) = 33°F - 30°F = 3°F. This method helps in energy saving by defining a precise operating range around your target temperature.
5.3. Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)
To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, access the advanced settings (hold SET for 3 seconds), navigate to F6 (PT), and use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons to select your preferred unit. Press SET to save.

8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your DTC102 controller, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display is blank or not turning on. | No power, loose connection. | Ensure the controller is securely plugged into a live power outlet. Check the power source. |
| Temperature reading is inaccurate. | Sensor not properly placed, damaged sensor, environmental interference. | Verify sensor placement. Ensure it's not directly exposed to heat/cold sources that don't reflect the overall environment. Inspect sensor for damage. |
| Heating/Cooling device not activating. | Incorrect settings (SV, CD, HD), device not plugged in correctly, device malfunction. | Check SV, CD, and HD settings. Ensure the device is plugged into the correct socket (Heating/Cooling). Test the device directly in a wall outlet. |
| "AH" or "AL" alarm displayed. | Temperature exceeded High Alarm (HA) or fell below Low Alarm (LA) setting. | Check the current temperature and compare it to your HA/LA settings. Adjust HA/LA if necessary, or address the environmental temperature issue. |
| Display turns off after a short period. | This is a power-saving feature. | Press any button to reactivate the display. This is normal operation. |
