5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Battery

The unit is equipped with a rechargeable lithium battery. Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the battery.

  1. Connect the small end of the USB charging cable to the charging port on the radio.
  2. Connect the larger end of the USB charging cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  3. The charging indicator light (if present) will illuminate during charging and turn off or change color when fully charged.
  4. Charging time may vary. Disconnect the charger once charging is complete.

5.2 Powering On/Off

Locate the Power/Volume knob. Rotate it clockwise to turn the unit ON and increase the volume. Rotate it counter-clockwise until it clicks to turn the unit OFF.

5.3 Antenna Adjustment

For optimal radio reception, extend the telescopic antenna fully. Adjust its direction for the best signal clarity.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Radio Operation (AM/FM/SW)

  1. Turn on the radio using the Power/Volume knob.
  2. Select the desired radio band (FM, AM, or SW) using the band selector switch, typically located on the top or side of the unit.
  3. Rotate the "Tuning" knob to scan for radio stations. Fine-tune the knob until the desired station is clear.
  4. Adjust the volume using the Power/Volume knob.

6.2 Bluetooth Connectivity

Connect your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device to the radio for wireless audio streaming.

  1. Ensure the radio is powered on and in Bluetooth mode (if there's a mode switch, select Bluetooth). The unit will typically emit an audible prompt or display an indicator light when ready for pairing.
  2. On your Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "Ridgeway" or a similar name from the list of found devices.
  4. Once paired, the radio will confirm the connection, and you can start playing music from your device.

6.3 MP3 Playback (USB/SD Card)

Play MP3 audio files directly from a USB flash drive or an SD/TF memory card.

  1. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or an SD/TF card into the memory card slot. Ensure the card is inserted correctly.
  2. The unit should automatically switch to MP3 playback mode and begin playing the first compatible audio file. If not, use the mode switch to select MP3/USB/Card mode.
  3. Use the Play/Pause, Next, and Previous buttons to control playback.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.

7.2 Storage

If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
