Watch Components:

  • Crown (A): Used for setting the time and date.
  • Pusher (B): Top button, typically used to start and stop the chronograph.
  • Pusher (C): Bottom button, typically used to reset the chronograph.
  • Main Dial: Displays hours, minutes, and seconds.
  • Chronograph Sub-dials: Includes 1/10 second, second, and minute counters for the chronograph function.
  • Date Window: Displays the current date.
  • Tachymeter Scale: Located on the outer rim of the dial, used for measuring speed.

3. Setup

3.1 Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown (A) out to the second click position.
  2. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
  3. Push the crown back in to the normal position to start the watch.

3.2 Setting the Date

  1. Pull the crown (A) out to the first click position.
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the movement) to set the date.
  3. Once the correct date is displayed, push the crown back in to the normal position.

Note: Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this may interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.

4. Operating the Chronograph

The chronograph function allows you to measure elapsed time independently of the main time display.

  1. Start: Press pusher (B) to start the chronograph. The chronograph second hand and sub-dials will begin to move.
  2. Stop: Press pusher (B) again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be indicated by the chronograph hands on the sub-dials.
  3. Reset: After stopping the chronograph, press pusher (C) to reset all chronograph hands to their zero positions.

4.1 Tachymeter Function

The tachymeter scale on the bezel can be used to measure speed over a known distance (e.g., 1 kilometer or 1 mile). Start the chronograph at the beginning of the distance and stop it at the end. The number on the tachymeter scale corresponding to where the chronograph second hand points indicates the average speed in units per hour.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Water Resistance

Your Benyar BY-5102M watch is water resistant to 30 meters (3 ATM). This means it is suitable for daily use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water. However, it is not suitable for swimming, showering, or prolonged underwater activities. Avoid pressing any buttons while the watch is wet or submerged. Also, avoid contact with steam and hot water, such as in hot baths or saunas, as this can compromise the water resistance seals.

5.2 Cleaning

  • Case and Glass: Wipe the watch case and mineral glass with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Leather Strap: Genuine leather straps should be kept dry. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals, which can cause the leather to dry out, crack, or discolor. Clean with a soft, dry cloth.

5.3 Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a quartz movement, which requires a battery. When the watch stops or the time becomes inaccurate, it may be time for a battery replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and function.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running: Check if the crown is pushed in completely. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
  • Time Inaccurate: This could indicate a low battery or a need for servicing.
  • Date Not Changing: Ensure the time is set correctly, especially past midnight. Avoid setting the date during the automatic change period (9 PM - 3 AM).
  • Chronograph Not Resetting to Zero: This may require a chronograph hand calibration, which is typically done by a watch technician.

If you experience persistent issues, please contact customer support or a professional watch repair service.
