4. Installation

Professional installation by a certified technician is highly recommended for safety and optimal performance.

4.1. Mounting

  • The water heater is designed for vertical installation.
  • Choose a suitable location that can support the weight of the water heater when full. Ensure adequate clearance for maintenance.
  • Mount the water heater securely to a solid wall using appropriate mounting hardware (not included).

4.2. Water Connections

  • Connect the cold water inlet (blue marking) and hot water outlet (red marking) to your plumbing system.
  • Install the provided safety valve on the cold water inlet. Ensure the discharge pipe from the safety valve is directed downwards and left open to the atmosphere.
  • Utilize the electrolytic sleeves provided to prevent galvanic corrosion between different metal components in the plumbing system.
  • Fill the water heater with water before connecting to the power supply. Open a hot water tap to allow air to escape until water flows steadily.

4.3. Electrical Connection

  • Ensure the main power supply is switched off before making any electrical connections.
  • Connect the water heater to a dedicated electrical circuit with appropriate overcurrent protection (e.g., circuit breaker).
  • Verify that the voltage (150 Volts) and power (1.5 KW) match the electrical specifications of your installation.
  • Ensure proper grounding of the appliance.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Initial Start-up

  • After ensuring the tank is completely filled with water and all connections are secure, switch on the main power supply to the water heater.
  • The indicator light on the unit will illuminate, indicating that the heating process has begun.

5.2. Temperature Adjustment

  • The water heater features an external thermostat for temperature regulation.
  • Rotate the thermostat dial to set your desired water temperature. The external thermometer will display the current temperature inside the tank.
  • For energy efficiency and to prevent scalding, it is recommended to set the temperature between 50°C and 60°C (120°F and 140°F).

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your water heater. Always disconnect power before maintenance.

6.1. Anode Inspection and Replacement

  • The magnesium anode protects the tank from corrosion. It is a sacrificial component and will deplete over time.
  • Inspect the anode annually (or more frequently in areas with hard water) and replace it when it is significantly depleted. This task should be performed by a qualified technician.

6.2. Safety Valve Check

  • Manually operate the safety valve lever at least once a year to ensure it is not blocked and functions correctly. Water should discharge from the valve.

6.3. Descaling (Hard Water Areas)

  • In areas with hard water, mineral deposits (limescale) can accumulate on the heating element and inside the tank, reducing efficiency.
  • Consider installing a water softener or a scale filter. Periodic descaling by a professional may be necessary.

6.4. Cleaning

  • Clean the exterior of the water heater with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7. Troubleshooting

Before contacting customer support, please refer to the following troubleshooting guide:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No hot water or insufficient hot water.
  • No power supply.
  • Thermostat set too low.
  • Heating element failure.
  • Tank too small for demand.
  • Check circuit breaker and power connection.
  • Adjust thermostat to a higher setting.
  • Contact a qualified technician for inspection/replacement.
  • Allow more time for heating or consider usage patterns.
Water is too hot.
  • Thermostat set too high.
  • Lower the thermostat setting.
Water leaking from the safety valve.
  • Normal expansion during heating.
  • Excessive water pressure.
  • Faulty safety valve.
  • This is normal. If excessive, check for expansion tank.
  • Install a pressure reducing valve if water pressure is too high.
  • Contact a qualified technician for inspection/replacement.
Unusual noises from the water heater.
  • Sediment buildup in the tank.
  • Drain and flush the tank to remove sediment. Consider professional descaling.
