Setup and Installation
Follow these steps carefully to install your EDM Caribe Ceiling Fan. Professional installation is recommended.
1. Mounting the Bracket
Secure the mounting bracket to a ceiling joist or an approved electrical junction box capable of supporting the fan's weight. Use appropriate screws and washers provided.
2. Assembling the Downrod and Motor
Feed the electrical wires from the motor through the downrod. Insert the downrod into the motor housing and secure it with the provided pin and screw.
3. Wiring Connections
Hang the fan assembly onto the mounting bracket. Connect the household electrical wires to the fan wires according to the wiring diagram (typically black to black, white to white, and green/bare copper to ground). Ensure all connections are secure with wire nuts.
4. Attaching the Canopy
Slide the canopy up to the ceiling and secure it to the mounting bracket, covering the wiring connections.
5. Installing the Fan Blades
Attach each of the three fan blades to the motor housing using the screws and washers. Ensure they are firmly tightened.
6. Installing the Light Kit

Operating Instructions
Your EDM Caribe Ceiling Fan is operated via a remote control.
Remote Control Functions
- Fan ON/OFF: Press to turn the fan on or off.
- Speed Control: Cycle through 3 fan speeds (Low, Medium, High).
- Light ON/OFF: Press to turn the light on or off.
- Light Dimmer: (If applicable) Press and hold the light button to dim or brighten the light.
- Directional Switch: (Often located on the fan motor housing, not the remote) A slide switch on the fan motor housing controls the direction of blade rotation.
- Summer Mode (Counter-clockwise): Creates a downward airflow, providing a cooling effect.
- Winter Mode (Clockwise): Creates an upward airflow, circulating warm air trapped near the ceiling.
Note: Ensure the fan is completely stopped before changing the directional switch.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the fan blades and motor housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure power is off before cleaning.
- Blade Tightness: Check blade screws annually to ensure they are tight. Loose blades can cause wobbling and noise.
- Light Bulb Replacement: Disconnect power before replacing the light bulb. Use a bulb of the correct wattage and type as specified by the manufacturer (refer to specifications or markings on the light kit).
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your fan, consult the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
