Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Sharp XL-HF203B system:

  1. Placement: Place the main unit on a stable, flat surface. Position the left and right speakers equidistant from the main unit, ensuring they are at ear level for optimal sound. Maintain some distance from walls for better bass response.
  2. Connect Speakers: Connect the speaker cables from the main unit's speaker terminals to the corresponding terminals on the left and right speakers. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) for each speaker.
  3. Connect Power: Insert the power cord into the AC IN jack on the rear of the main unit, then plug the other end into a wall outlet.
  4. Initial Power On: Press the Power button on the main unit or remote control to turn on the system. The display will light up.
  5. Optional Connections:
    • Optical Input: Connect an optical cable from your TV or other digital audio source to the OPTICAL IN port on the rear of the main unit.
    • Audio In: Connect an external analog audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the AUDIO IN jack on the front panel using a 3.5mm stereo cable.
    • Subwoofer: If using an external powered subwoofer, connect it to the SUBWOOFER OUT port on the rear panel.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation:

CD Playback:

  1. Press the FUNCTION button to select "CD" mode.
  2. Press the Open/Close button to open the CD tray.
  3. Place a CD with the label side up into the tray and close the tray.
  4. Playback will usually start automatically. If not, press the Play/Pause button.
  5. Use the Skip buttons to navigate between tracks.

USB Playback:

The system supports MP3, WAV, and FLAC formats for high-resolution audio playback.

  1. Insert a USB storage device into the USB port on the front panel.
  2. Press the FUNCTION button to select "USB" mode.
  3. The system will scan the USB device and begin playback.
  4. Use the playback controls (Play/Pause, Stop, Skip) to manage your music.
  5. Note: For optimal compatibility, use USB 2.0 drives.

Bluetooth Connection:

Connect your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device wirelessly.

  1. Press the FUNCTION button to select "Bluetooth" mode. The display will show "PAIRING" or "BLUETOOTH".
  2. On your Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "SHARP XL-HF203B" from the list of devices.
  4. Once connected, the display will show "CONNECTED". You can now play audio from your device through the system.
  5. NFC Pairing: For NFC-enabled devices, simply touch the NFC area on the remote control with your device to initiate pairing.
  6. Multi Device Pairing: Up to 4 mobile devices can be connected to the audio set for sequential playback.
  7. Headphone Link: Wirelessly connect to Bluetooth headphones for private listening. Refer to your headphone's manual for pairing instructions.

Optical Input Playback:

Ideal for connecting digital audio from TVs or other devices.

  1. Ensure an optical cable is connected from your source device to the OPTICAL IN port on the system's rear.
  2. Press the FUNCTION button to select "OPTICAL IN" mode.
  3. Play audio from your connected source device.

Audio In Playback:

For connecting analog audio devices.

  1. Connect your external audio device to the AUDIO IN jack on the front panel using a 3.5mm stereo cable.
  2. Press the FUNCTION button to select "AUDIO IN" mode.
