I/M Readiness Test
This function checks the readiness of the emission-related monitoring systems to determine if the vehicle is ready for a smog test.
- Select "I/M Readiness" from the diagnostic menu.
- The display will show the status of various monitors (e.g., MIL, Misfire, Fuel System, O2 Sensor). A 'PASS' or 'OK' status indicates readiness.

The I/M Readiness screen helps determine if your vehicle is ready for an emissions test.
Live Data Stream
View real-time operational data from your vehicle's sensors, such as RPM, coolant temperature, O2 sensor readings, and more. This can help in diagnosing intermittent problems.
- Select "Data Stream" from the diagnostic menu.
- You can view data in numerical format or as a graphical display for easier analysis.

Monitor real-time vehicle data with the live data stream function.
O2 Sensor Test & EVAP System Test
The AD410 allows for advanced diagnostics including O2 sensor and EVAP system testing.
- O2 Sensor Test: Monitors and fine-tunes the air/fuel mixture for improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
- EVAP System Test: Performs a leak test on your vehicle's Evaporative Emission Control System to check for fuel vapor leaks.

Perform EVAP system leak tests and O2 sensor diagnostics.
DTC Lookup
The device has over 42,000 built-in DTC lookups, allowing you to quickly identify fault definitions without needing to search online.
- Select "Lookup" from the main menu.
- Enter the DTC code to view its definition.

Quickly find definitions for diagnostic trouble codes using the built-in lookup feature.
Vehicle Information
Access important vehicle information such as Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Calibration Identifications (CALID), and Calibration Verification Numbers (CVN).

Maintenance
Software Updates
The ANCEL AD410 offers free lifetime software updates to ensure you always have the latest features and bug fixes. The USB port at the bottom of the device is used for this purpose.
- Connect the AD410 to your computer using the provided USB cable.
- Visit the official ANCEL website (www.anceltech.com) and navigate to the Download Center.
- Select the AD410 product model and download the latest update software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
Important Note: The USB cable is for software updates and sending feedback only; it is not for powering or charging the device. Do not connect both the USB port and the OBDII 16PIN port simultaneously, as this can interfere with diagnosis.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot Clear Fault Codes: Fault codes can only be cleared after the underlying issue in the car has been resolved. The device itself does not fix the car's problems. Ensure the erase code function is performed with the key in the 'ON' position and the engine 'OFF'. If codes still do not clear, the issue might be a hardware fault requiring repair before codes can be reset.
- Limited System Support: The ANCEL AD410 is primarily an engine code reader. It does NOT support other vehicle systems such as ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), SRS (Supplemental Restraint System/Airbag), Transmission, or other non-engine related systems.
- Device Not Powering On: Ensure the AD410 is correctly connected to the vehicle's 16-pin OBDII diagnostic port. The device draws power directly from this connection and does not require batteries or charging.
- Compatibility Issues: While the AD410 supports most 1996 US-based, 2000 EU-based, and Asian cars, light trucks, and SUVs, specific vehicle models may vary. If you encounter compatibility issues, verify your vehicle's OBDII compliance or contact ANCEL support.
