1. Introduction and Overview

The BRITA MAXTRA+ water filter cartridge is designed to enhance the taste and quality of your tap water. Utilizing MicroFlow technology, it effectively reduces impurities such as chlorine, limescale, lead, and copper. 2. Safety Information

3. Setup and First Use

1. Prepare the Cartridge: Remove the MAXTRA+ cartridge from its protective wrapper. Submerge the cartridge in a bowl of water for approximately 5 minutes to remove any air bubbles.

2. Rinse the Cartridge: Hold the cartridge under running cold water for a few seconds to rinse it thoroughly.

3. Insert into Jug: Open the lid of your BRITA water filter jug. Insert the MAXTRA+ cartridge into the funnel until it clicks into place. Ensure it is seated firmly to prevent unfiltered water from bypassing the filter.

4. Fill and Discard First Two Fillings: Fill the jug with cold tap water. Allow the water to filter through. For optimal performance, discard the first two filtered fillings. These initial fillings help to flush out any loose particles and activate the filter material.

5. Reset Filter Change Indicator: If your BRITA jug has an electronic 'Memo' or 'Meter' filter change indicator, press and hold the reset button until the display shows 100% or four bars, indicating a new filter has been installed.
