4.1 Important Installation Notes

  • This system is compatible with most DC12V petrol cars, including automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Not compatible with vehicles equipped with a factory push start button, pneumatic locking systems, or those requiring a double unlock pulse signal.
  • Professional car alarm installation is highly recommended.
  • If your vehicle has a chip immobilizer in the factory OEM key fob, an extra bypass module (e.g., ASIN: B07NSLPBG7 or B00MEHBVIC) is required.
  • The steering wheel lock must be unlocked, released, or removed during installation if present in your vehicle.
  • Each time, only one key fob works while the other enters sleep mode until activated.

4.2 PKE Antenna Installation

Proper placement of the PKE antennas is crucial for optimal performance of the passive keyless entry feature. Refer to the video below for guidance on antenna installation.

Video 4.1: Guide to PKE antenna installation for the EASYGUARD system. This video demonstrates the recommended placement for the front and rear PKE antennas to ensure proper passive keyless entry functionality.

5.2 Passive Keyless Entry (PKE)

The PKE feature automatically manages door locking and unlocking based on the proximity of the key fob.

  • Automatic Lock: When you walk away from the vehicle with the key fob, the car doors will automatically lock after 2-3 meters.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with the EASYGUARD EC003N-V system, consider the following general advice:

  • System Malfunction: Ensure all wiring connections are secure and correctly installed according to the wiring diagram.
  • Remote Not Responding: Check the key fob battery and replace it if necessary (refer to Section 6.1). Ensure you are within the operational range.
  • PKE Inconsistency: Verify that the PKE antennas are correctly positioned and not obstructed. Ensure the key fob is not in sleep mode.
  • Engine Not Starting: Confirm the vehicle is in disarmed status and the foot brake is pressed firmly. Check for any immobilizer bypass issues if applicable.

For complex issues or if you are unsure about any installation steps, it is strongly recommended to consult a professional car alarm installer. Incorrect installation can lead to system malfunction or damage to your vehicle.
