4. Operating Instructions

Your Hampton Bay Glendale ceiling fan features a 3-speed reversible motor and a light kit.

4.1 Fan Speed Control

  • The fan speed is controlled by a pull chain. Pull the chain repeatedly to cycle through High, Medium, Low, and Off settings.
  • A remote control may also be used if purchased separately or included with your specific model. Refer to the remote control's manual for pairing and operation.

4.2 Light Operation

  • The light kit is operated by a separate pull chain. Pull the chain to turn the lights On or Off.

4.3 Reversing Blade Direction (Seasonal Use)

The fan features a reversible motor for year-round comfort. A switch on the fan motor housing controls the direction of blade rotation.

  • Summer Operation: Set the switch to allow blades to rotate counter-clockwise, creating a downward airflow that produces a cooling effect.
  • Winter Operation: Set the switch to allow blades to rotate clockwise, creating an upward airflow that circulates warm air near the ceiling.
  • Caution: Ensure the fan is completely stopped before changing the direction switch.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ceiling fan.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the fan blades and motor housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Clean glass shades with a mild glass cleaner.
  • Tightening Screws: Check all screws and connections annually to ensure they remain secure. Loose connections can cause noise or wobbling.
  • Bulb Replacement: Replace 13-Watt CFL bulbs with bulbs of the same type and wattage. Ensure power is off before replacing bulbs.

6. Troubleshooting

Before performing any troubleshooting, ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker.
