1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Gateman S10-FD Keyless Digital Door Lock. Please read this manual carefully before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety.

The Gateman S10-FD is a modern digital door lock featuring a slim design, PIN and card access, and an extra secure double-hooked bolt mechanism. It is designed for enhanced security and convenience.

2. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the components and key features of your Gateman S10-FD digital door lock.

2.1 Exterior Unit Components

• Touch pad: Used for entering PIN codes. Features an imaginary number function for enhanced security.
• Deadbolt hook lamp: Indicates the status of the deadbolt.
• Battery replacement lamp: Illuminates when batteries are low and require replacement.
• Card key touch part: Area for scanning RFID cards or tags for access.
• Emergency power supply terminal: 9V terminal for temporary power in case of complete battery depletion (9V battery purchased separately).

The double hook mechanism significantly enhances the lock's resistance to both lateral and static pressure, making it more secure against forced entry.

3. Setup and Installation

Professional installation is recommended for optimal performance and security. Ensure your door is compatible with the lock's dimensions and requirements.

3.1 Powering the Lock

• The lock is powered by four (4) 1.5V AA alkaline batteries.
• Open the battery cover on the interior unit (refer to Figure 2.2).
• Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
• Close the battery cover securely.
• Note: Use only alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.

3.2 Initial Registration (PIN Code and RFID Cards)

Follow the instructions provided with the lock for initial registration of your master PIN code and included RFID tags. Typically, this involves pressing the 'I' (registration) button on the interior unit and following the voice prompts or visual indicators.

• The lock supports one (1) PIN number (4-12 digits).
• The lock supports up to twenty (20) RFID tags. Four (4) RFID tags are included: two (2) Gateman stringed RFID tags and two (2) generic wallet-size RFID cards.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Unlocking from the Exterior

• Using PIN Code:
  1. Touch the keypad to activate it.
  2. Enter your registered 4-12 digit PIN code.
  3. Press the '*' (star) button or the '#' (pound) button (depending on model configuration) to confirm.
  4. The lock will unlock, and you can open the door.
• Using RFID Card/Tag:
  1. Place your registered RFID card or tag on the 'Card key touch part' (refer to Figure 2.1).
  2. The lock will unlock, and you can open the door.

4.2 Locking from the Exterior

• Automatic Lock Mode: If set to automatic lock mode, the door will lock automatically a few seconds after it is closed.
• Manual Lock Mode: If set to manual lock mode, touch the keypad or press the lock button (if available) to lock the door.

4.3 Unlocking and Locking from the Interior

• Unlocking: Press the 'Open / Close Button' or turn the 'Manually Opening and Closing Device' (refer to Figure 2.2).
• Locking: Press the 'Open / Close Button' or turn the 'Manually Opening and Closing Device' (refer to Figure 2.2).
• Privacy Double-Lock Mode: Activate this mode from the interior unit to prevent unlocking from the exterior using PIN or card. This is typically done by engaging a specific switch or button on the interior unit. Refer to the detailed instructions for your specific model.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

• When the 'Battery replacement lamp' illuminates or you hear a low battery warning sound, replace all four (4) AA alkaline batteries immediately.
• Refer to Section 3.1 for instructions on how to replace batteries.
• Important: Do not wait for the batteries to completely drain, as this may prevent the lock from operating.

5.2 Emergency Power Supply

• If the batteries are completely drained and the lock does not respond, you can use a 9V battery for emergency power.
• Connect a 9V battery to the 'Emergency power supply terminal' on the exterior unit (refer to Figure 2.1).
• While holding the 9V battery in place, enter your PIN code or use an RFID card to unlock the door.
• Replace the internal AA batteries as soon as possible after gaining entry.

5.3 Cleaning

• Wipe the lock's surface with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the finish and electronic components.
