This manual provides instructions for the BOMAZ Replacement Remote Controller, designed for use with various Philips Blu-ray and DVD players, including models BDP2105, BDP2205, BDP3406, BDP2985/F, and BDP2100/F7. This remote offers a slim and sleek design for comfortable handling and stable performance. It functions as a direct replacement and requires no programming.

The remote control is designed to operate your compatible Philips Blu-ray/DVD player effectively, providing access to essential functions including disc playback, menu navigation, and dedicated buttons for streaming services like Netflix and Vudu.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Press down on the tab and slide the battery cover downwards to open it.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.

2. Initial Use (No Programming Required)

This replacement remote control is designed to work immediately with compatible Philips Blu-ray/DVD players without any programming. Once batteries are installed, point the remote towards your player and begin use.

Operating Instructions

The remote control provides intuitive access to all standard functions of your Philips Blu-ray/DVD player. Ensure a clear line of sight between the remote's infrared emitter and the player's IR receiver for optimal performance. The operable distance is more than 8 meters.

Key Functions:

• Power Button (⏻): Turns the player on or off.
• Netflix Button: Direct access to the Netflix streaming application.
• Vudu Button: Direct access to the Vudu streaming application.
• Navigation Pad (Up, Down, Left, Right, OK): Used to navigate menus and confirm selections.
• Disc Menu / Pop-Up Menu: Accesses the disc menu or pop-up menu during playback.
• Top Menu: Returns to the main menu of the disc.
• Playback Controls (Play, Pause, Stop, Fast Forward, Rewind, Skip Forward, Skip Back): Standard controls for media playback.
• Number Pad (0-9): For direct track selection or inputting numbers.
• Subtitle: Toggles subtitle options.
• Audio: Changes audio tracks or settings.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement:

Replace batteries when the remote's responsiveness decreases or it stops functioning. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Cleaning:

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, sprays, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Storage:

If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, it is recommended to remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage to the remote.

Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Ensure batteries are correctly installed with correct polarity.
  • Replace old batteries with new ones.
  • Check for any obstructions between the remote and the Blu-ray player's IR sensor.
  • Ensure you are within the operable distance (within 8 meters) and pointing the remote directly at the player.
• Specific buttons not working:
  • Verify that the button is applicable to your specific Philips player model. Some functions may vary.
  • Clean the remote's surface, especially around the unresponsive button, to ensure no debris is interfering.
• Player tray not opening/closing with remote:
  • This remote controls the digital functions of the player. Physical tray operations (open/close) are typically controlled by a dedicated button on the player itself or a specific button on the original remote. If your Philips player model relies solely on the original remote for tray control, this replacement remote may not support that specific physical function.
