3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Open the battery door.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Note: Batteries are not included.
  4. Close the battery door securely.

3.2 Placement Options

The device offers versatile placement options:

  • Tabletop Use: Utilize the foldable stand on the back to place the device on any flat surface, such as a desk, shelf, or counter.
  • Wall Mounting: Use the mounting screw slot on the back to hang the device on a wall.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Display Information

The LCD screen displays the following information:

  • Temperature: Current indoor temperature in Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C).
  • Humidity: Current indoor relative humidity (RH%) with comfort level icons.
  • Time: Current time (AM/PM indicator).

4.2 Changing Temperature Units

Press the "C/F" button on the back of the device to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) temperature units.

4.3 High/Low Records

The device automatically records the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values over a period. To view these records, press the designated button (often labeled 'SET' or 'RESET' on the back, or a touch area on the front, as indicated by 'Home Button' in some descriptions) briefly. Pressing it again may cycle through current, max, and min values. To reset the high/low records, press and hold the 'RESET' button.

4.4 Setting the Time

To set the time, locate the 'SET' button on the back of the device. Press and hold the 'SET' button until the time display begins to flash. Use the 'C/F' or 'RESET' buttons (or similar directional buttons if present) to adjust the hours and minutes. Press 'SET' again to confirm each setting and move to the next. Once all settings are complete, the display will stop flashing.

4.5 Humidity Comfort Icons

The device displays a comfort icon to visually represent the current humidity level:

  • Dry: Indicates low humidity.
  • Comfortable: Indicates optimal humidity levels.
  • Humid: Indicates high humidity.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.

5.2 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or the device stops functioning. Always use new AAA batteries and dispose of old batteries responsibly.

5.3 Sensor Vents

Ensure the bilateral sensor vents on the sides of the device remain clear of dust and obstructions to maintain accurate readings.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Display: Check if batteries are installed correctly and are not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the sensor vents are not blocked. Avoid placing the device near heat sources, direct sunlight, or areas with extreme drafts, as these can affect accuracy. Allow the device to stabilize for 10-15 minutes after initial setup or relocation.
  • Display Not Changing: If readings appear stuck, try removing and reinserting the batteries to perform a soft reset.
