Product Overview

The Mi 3C Router is a Wireless N series router designed to provide high-speed internet connectivity for your home or office. It features four external antennas for extended range and improved signal stability, supporting speeds up to 300Mbps.

• Wireless N series with speed up to 300Mbps.
• Compatible with RJ-45 (Ethernet cable) input from various ISPs.
• Four antennas for better range, up to 80m in open space.

Setup Guide

1. Package Contents

Verify that all items are present in the package:

2. Hardware Connection

1. Connect the Power Adapter: Insert the power adapter into the router's power port and plug it into a power outlet. The router will power on automatically.
2. Connect to Internet (WAN): Connect the Ethernet cable from your ADSL/cable modem or ISP's wall jack to the blue WAN port on the router.
3. Connect Devices (LAN): For wired connections, connect your computer or other network devices to any of the yellow LAN ports using an Ethernet cable.

3. Initial Configuration

1. Connect to Wi-Fi: On your computer or mobile device, search for the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) broadcast by the router. It typically starts with "Xiaomi_" or "MiWiFi_". Connect to this network.
2. Access Router Management Page: Open a web browser and enter the default router IP address (usually 192.168.31.1 or miwifi.com) in the address bar.
3. Follow On-Screen Instructions: The setup wizard will guide you through setting up your internet connection, Wi-Fi name (SSID), and Wi-Fi password. Create a strong administrator password for the router management page.
4. Mi Wi-Fi App: For advanced features and remote management, download the Mi Wi-Fi app from your device's app store.

Operation

Connecting Devices

• Wi-Fi Connection: On your wireless devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops), search for your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and enter the password you set during initial configuration.
• Ethernet Connection: Connect devices directly to the router's yellow LAN ports using Ethernet cables for stable wired connections.

Wi-Fi Network Management

You can manage your Wi-Fi settings through the router's web management page or the Mi Wi-Fi app.

• Change Wi-Fi Name/Password: Navigate to the Wi-Fi settings section to modify your network name (SSID) or password. It is recommended to use a strong, unique password.
• Guest Network: If available, enable a separate guest network for visitors to keep your main network secure.

The Mi Wi-Fi app provides convenient control over your router from your smartphone.

• Remote Management: Control your router settings even when you are away from home.
• Device Management: View connected devices, set bandwidth limits, and block unwanted devices.
• Security Features: Access various security settings to protect your network.

Maintenance

Firmware Updates

Regularly check for and install firmware updates through the router's web management page or the Mi Wi-Fi app. Firmware updates often include performance improvements, new features, and security patches.

Router Placement

Optimal placement of your router can significantly improve Wi-Fi coverage and performance.

• Place the router in a central location in your home or office.
• Avoid placing it near large metal objects, concrete walls, or appliances that emit electromagnetic interference (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
• Elevate the router if possible, as Wi-Fi signals tend to travel downwards.

Cleaning

To clean the router, gently wipe its surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols. Ensure the router is unplugged before cleaning.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Mi 3C Router, refer to the common problems and solutions below.

No Internet Connection

• Check if the WAN cable is securely connected to the blue port on the router and to your modem/ISP's jack.
• Ensure your modem is working correctly and has an active internet connection.
• Restart both your modem and the router by unplugging them from power for 30 seconds and then plugging them back in.
• Verify your internet settings in the router's web management page.

Slow Wi-Fi Speed or Weak Signal

• Relocate the router to a more central position, away from obstructions and interference sources.
• Ensure the router's antennas are oriented correctly for optimal signal dispersion.
• Reduce the number of connected devices or check for bandwidth-intensive activities.
• Update the router's firmware to the latest version.

Cannot Access Router Management Page

• Ensure your device is connected to the router's Wi-Fi network or via an Ethernet cable to a LAN port.
• Verify that you are entering the correct IP address (192.168.31.1) or domain (miwifi.com).
• Clear your browser's cache and cookies, or try a different browser.

Factory Reset

If other troubleshooting steps fail, you may need to perform a factory reset. This will revert all settings to their default values.

1. With the router powered on, locate the reset button (usually a small pinhole) on the back of the router.
2. Use a paperclip or a similar pointed object to press and hold the reset button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the indicator lights change.
3. Release the button. The router will restart with factory default settings. You will need to reconfigure it.
