Setup

1. Charging the Earphones

Before first use, fully charge your earphones. Locate the USB charging port, typically covered by a rubber flap for water resistance. Connect the included USB charge cable to the earphones and to a standard USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, wall adapter). The LED indicator will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, blue for fully charged). A full charge provides up to 6 hours of playback.

2. Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Power On: Press and hold the power button on the inline remote control until the LED indicator flashes, usually alternating red and blue, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Activate Bluetooth: On your smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth-enabled device, go to the Bluetooth settings and ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
  3. Select Device: Look for "MZW101-BLK" or "Altec Lansing MZW101" in the list of available devices. Select it to initiate pairing.
  4. Confirm Connection: Once successfully paired, the LED indicator on the earphones will typically turn solid blue or flash slowly, and your device will confirm the connection.

Note: If prompted for a passcode, enter "0000". The earphones will automatically attempt to reconnect to the last paired device when powered on.

3. Fitting the Earphones

Proper fit is crucial for sound quality and comfort. Experiment with the different sizes of earbud tips provided to find the best seal for your ear canal. The earphones also feature ear hooks designed to secure them during physical activity. Gently insert the earbud into your ear and adjust the ear hook to rest comfortably and securely within your outer ear.

Waterproof Functionality (IPX7)

The MZW101-BLK earphones are rated IPX7, meaning they are protected against immersion in water up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) for up to 30 minutes. This makes them suitable for use during workouts, in light rain, or accidental splashes. Do not intentionally submerge the earphones for extended periods or use them for swimming. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed before exposure to water.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance and hygiene:

  • Regularly wipe the earbuds and cables with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • For earwax buildup on the earbud tips, gently remove the tips and clean them with a mild soap solution and water. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or chemical solvents.

Storage

When not in use, store your earphones in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid tangling the cables to prevent damage.
