3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Inspect all components for any signs of shipping damage. Report any damage to your supplier immediately. Ensure all listed accessories are present.
3.2 Placement
Place the machine on a sturdy, level workbench or stand capable of supporting its weight (approximately 43 kg). Ensure adequate clearance around the machine for safe operation and maintenance. The work area should be well-lit and have access to a 230V power supply.
3.3 Power Connection
Connect the machine to a grounded 230V electrical outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the "OFF" position before plugging in the machine.
3.4 Accessory Installation
Install the provided arbor and 1-10mm quick-release drill chuck as per standard machine tool practices. Use the M10 drawbar to secure the tooling in place.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
To power on, turn the main power switch to the "ON" position. To power off, turn the switch to "OFF". Always ensure the machine has come to a complete stop before leaving it unattended.
4.2 Speed Adjustment
The DC motor's speed is steplessly adjustable via the full-wave electronics. Use the speed control knob to set the desired RPM. Refer to material and tool specifications for optimal cutting speeds.
4.3 Direction Control (Clockwise/Counter-clockwise)
Select the desired rotation direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise) using the direction switch. Ensure the spindle is stopped before changing direction.
4.4 Column Swivel
To perform angled operations, loosen the column locking mechanism and swivel the vertical dovetail column up to 45° to either side. Securely tighten the locking mechanism before operation.
4.5 Cross Table Adjustment
The robust cross table can be precisely adjusted in the X and Y axes using the respective handwheels. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped to the T-slots before beginning any operation.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Promac JMD-1-M.
5.1 Cleaning
After each use, clean the machine thoroughly, removing all chips and debris. Use a brush or shop vacuum. Do not use compressed air as it can force chips into moving parts. Wipe down surfaces with a clean cloth.
5.2 Lubrication
Regularly lubricate all moving parts, including the lead screws, dovetail ways, and spindle bearings, with appropriate machine oil. Consult a machine lubricant guide for specific recommendations.
5.3 Inspection
Periodically inspect all fasteners for tightness. Check electrical cords for damage. Examine the drill chuck and arbor for wear or damage. Replace worn parts as necessary.
