1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Sharp R-752IN Microwave Oven. This appliance is designed for efficient and convenient cooking, reheating, and defrosting. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating your new microwave oven to ensure safe and optimal performance. Keep this manual for future reference.

The Sharp R-752IN features an 800W microwave, a 1000W quartz grill, 10 automatic cooking menus, and 3 combination cooking modes. It has a 25-liter capacity and comes with a 315mm glass turntable and a high grill rack.

2. Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, injury to persons, or exposure to excessive microwave energy when using your appliance, follow basic safety precautions, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open as this can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy.
  • Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
  • Do not operate the oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the oven door closes properly and that there is no damage to the: (1) door (bent), (2) hinges and latches (broken or loosened), (3) door seals and sealing surfaces.
  • Only qualified service personnel should adjust or repair the oven.
  • Do not heat liquids or other foods in sealed containers since they are liable to explode.
  • Do not use metal utensils, foil, or dishes with metallic trim in the microwave mode.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.

Control Panel

The control panel allows you to select cooking functions, set time, and adjust power levels.

  • Digital Display: Shows time, power level, and selected functions.
  • Function Buttons: For selecting Microwave, Grill, Combination, Defrost, and Auto Menu modes.
  • Start/Stop Button: To begin or cancel cooking.
  • Rotary Dial: Used to set cooking time, weight for defrost, or select auto menu options.
  • +30s Button: Adds 30 seconds of cooking time.

4. Setup

Unpacking

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the oven.
  2. Check the oven for any damage, such as dents or a misaligned door. Do not operate the oven if it is damaged.
  3. Ensure all accessories are present: glass turntable, turntable support, and grill rack.

Placement

  • Place the oven on a flat, stable surface that can support its weight and the heaviest food item likely to be cooked in it.
  • Ensure there is adequate space for ventilation: at least 20 cm (8 inches) above the oven, 10 cm (4 inches) at the rear, and 5 cm (2 inches) on each side. Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Keep the oven away from heat sources and strong magnetic fields.

Initial Use

  1. Clean the interior of the oven and the glass turntable with a damp cloth.
  2. Place the turntable support and glass turntable inside the oven.
  3. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  4. Set the clock (refer to the 'Operating Instructions' section for details).

5. Operating Instructions

Basic Microwave Cooking

  1. Place food in a microwave-safe container on the glass turntable.
  2. Close the oven door securely.
  3. Press the 'Microwave' button repeatedly to select the desired power level (e.g., 800W, 600W, etc. - 8 levels available).
  4. Turn the rotary dial to set the cooking time.
  5. Press the 'Start' button to begin cooking.

Grill Cooking

Use the included grill rack for optimal grilling results.

  1. Place food on the grill rack, then place the rack on the glass turntable.
  2. Close the oven door.
  3. Press the 'Grill' button.
  4. Turn the rotary dial to set the grilling time.
  5. Press the 'Start' button.

Combination Cooking

The R-752IN offers 3 combination cooking modes, combining microwave and grill functions for faster and more even cooking.

  1. Place food in a suitable container on the grill rack or turntable.
  2. Press the 'Combi' button repeatedly to select one of the 3 combination modes.
  3. Turn the rotary dial to set the cooking time.
  4. Press the 'Start' button.

Auto Menus

The oven has 10 pre-programmed auto menus for common food items.

  1. Place food in the oven.
  2. Press the 'Auto Menu' button.
  3. Turn the rotary dial to select the desired auto menu number.
  4. Press 'Start'. The oven will automatically set the cooking time and power level.

Defrost Function

The defrost function allows you to defrost food by time or by weight.

  1. Place the frozen food in a microwave-safe container.
  2. Press the 'Defrost' button.
  3. Turn the rotary dial to select either defrost by time or defrost by weight. Adjust the time or weight accordingly.
  4. Press the 'Start' button.

Setting the Clock

  1. In standby mode, press the 'Clock' button (if available, or refer to manual for specific button).
  2. Turn the rotary dial to set the hour. Press 'Clock' again.
  3. Turn the rotary dial to set the minutes. Press 'Clock' again to confirm.

Child Lock

To activate the child lock, press and hold the 'Stop/Cancel' button for 3 seconds. The display will show a lock indicator. To deactivate, repeat the process.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and efficient operation of your microwave oven.

  • Interior: Wipe the oven cavity after each use with a damp cloth to prevent food splatters from drying. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Exterior: Clean the exterior surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid getting water into the ventilation openings.
  • Door and Seals: Clean the door, door seals, and adjacent parts carefully with a damp cloth to remove any spills or splatters.
  • Glass Turntable: The glass turntable and turntable support can be washed in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher. Ensure they are completely dry before placing them back in the oven.
  • Grill Rack: Wash the grill rack in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.

Caution:

  • Always unplug the oven before cleaning.
  • Do not immerse the power cord, plug, or the appliance itself in water or other liquids.
