3. Setup and Installation
3.1. Battery Installation
The CR2450 Lithium Metal battery is pre-installed in the sensor. Before first use, ensure any protective pull-tabs are removed from the battery compartment to activate the sensor.
3.2. Pairing with a Smart Home Hub
The Centralite Micro Motion Sensor is Zigbee HA 1.2 certified and compatible with various Zigbee HA 1.2-certified hubs, including Ezlo, SmartThings, Wink, and Vera. Follow these general steps to pair your sensor:
- Place your smart home hub into pairing mode. Refer to your hub's specific instructions for this process.
- Activate the sensor's pairing mode. This typically involves pressing a button on the sensor until an indicator light flashes. Consult the Quick Start Guide for exact button location and indicator behavior.
- Once paired, the hub will confirm the connection, and the sensor's indicator light will change (e.g., solid green).
- Configure the sensor within your hub's application to define its function and integrate it into your smart home routines.

3.3. Mounting the Sensor
The sensor is designed for wall mounting. Use the included adhesive mounting tape to secure the sensor in your desired location. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry for optimal adhesion. Position the sensor to cover the area where motion detection is required, keeping in mind its 30-foot IR range.
4. Operation
4.1. Motion Detection
The sensor continuously monitors its detection area for movement. Upon detecting motion, it sends a signal to your connected smart home hub. This signal can be used to trigger various automated actions.
4.2. Smart Home Integration
Once integrated with your smart home hub, the motion sensor can be configured for multiple applications:
- Security Alerts: Receive text or email notifications when unexpected motion is detected.
- Automated Lighting: Automatically turn lights on or off based on presence, such as illuminating a hallway at night or turning on living room lights upon entry.
- Energy Saving: Trigger actions to turn off lights, adjust thermostats, or disable devices when no motion is detected for a set period.
- Temperature Monitoring: Utilize the built-in temperature sensor to monitor room temperature and create automation rules based on temperature changes.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Replacement
The sensor uses one CR2450 Lithium Metal battery. When the battery level is low, your smart home hub may send a notification. To replace the battery:
- Carefully open the sensor casing.
- Remove the old CR2450 battery.
- Insert a new CR2450 battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the sensor casing securely.
- The sensor should automatically reconnect to your hub. If not, you may need to re-pair it following the instructions in Section 3.2.
5.2. Cleaning
Clean the sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the device.
6. Troubleshooting
- Sensor Not Connecting/Frequent Disconnections:
Ensure the sensor is within range of your Zigbee hub. Check the battery level and replace if necessary. Try re-pairing the sensor with your hub. Verify that your hub's firmware is up to date. - Motion Not Detected:
Check for obstructions in the sensor's field of view. Ensure the sensor is mounted at an appropriate height and angle. Verify the battery is not depleted. Test the sensor's functionality by manually triggering motion. - Inaccurate Temperature Readings:
Ensure the sensor is not placed near heat sources or vents that could affect its readings. Allow time for the sensor to acclimate to its environment. - Alerts Not Received:
Confirm that notification settings are correctly configured within your smart home hub's application. Check your phone's notification settings for the hub's app.
